Wheel recommendations
My son was T-boned by a car a few days ago (written up on the over 50 forum) and miraculously did fine except for some nasty cuts and bruises. He rides a BD Motobecane SS/FG, which also seemed to hold up well. However, the wheels were trashed and I need to replace them.
What would you boys recommend? I'm interested in function over form, and something that is reasonably inexpensive. Thanks. |

Well-informed consumers? There's plenty of great wheelset options on there, I just have a thing for SunRims. They are no bull****.

Velomine it is. Thanks all.
So what kind of tires do you like? |
Tire choice depends on a lot of things, but for a good all purpose road tire I'd go wtih gatorskins, unless your kid is skid-happy, then just whatever's cheap.

gatorskins
armadillos grand prix 4000 panaracer pasela tg |
For tires I just ride what is cheap. Conti Ultra Race hold up surprisingly well for the low price. They suck in snow, but I don't think that you get much of that in Kentucky.
