EighthInch Chainring Soft as Butter

I just purchased an EighthInch chainring. I have heard these rings are good, I know Scrod is a big advocate.

My ring feels super soft and I feel that its to a point where the alloys integrity is being compromised while its being pinched by the chainring bolts.

Anyone else have a similar experience? or any problems with theirs?

I've seen chainrings like that most of my life.

Maybe you should consider a steel one if it bothers you too much.

no.

Patient: "Doctor, it hurts when I move like this"

Groucho: "Then, don't move like this" *wiggles cigar*

This is rediculous. I have a simple concern with a new chainring and for some reason everyone expects me to have the answers to my own questions.

It isn't like this is a bike forum or anything, right?

it isnt a matter of preference by something "bothering me,"

I am asking from simply a "matter of fact" perspective.

I wonder how long you pause to come up with things to say before pressing submit

I gave you the straight goods. If you want a tough chainring spend $100+ or get steel. Most chainrings are not heat treated 7005 with hard anodizing.

It's "soft" because it is inexpensive. If this is not clear...

Scrod knows what's up. I trust him...as much as one can trust another person on the interwebz...

Thanks Charne :D

The one I've got is over a year old and I've never had a smidge of trouble with it.
