WTB: Black Cranks

Hi I'm looking for a new black 165 - 170mm crankset. I'll pay up to $100 if someone has anything they want to sell, or if anybody knows where to find a deal on some. Thanks.

Just a protip, Nashbar always says their stuff is on sale. That frame (and the nashbar branded stuff in general) been "on sale" for months at least, if not always.

A good deal, perhaps. A great deal, I think not. I bought a complete VISP frameset with fork and headset for $121 shipped. That, IMO was indeed a great deal. I bought two Leader 721tr frames in eBay auctions for $115 and $98.50 shipped respectively, and those frames IMO are better than the Nashbar frame. By the time you pay shipping on the Nashbar frame, and find a nice carbon fork and a decent headset, the cost will be well over $200.

well it's a replacement frame. It's not being built up new to race or anything.

That's funny. I sold my old set of Touros a while back on eBay for $110 + shipping to some dude in Australia.

Any thoughts on this?:

(Feb 9) Two bike storage rack for $30

I'm going to need a storage option pretty soon, as I'm going to move into a one bedroom with the fiancee.

I know! I put them up on eBay thinking I'd get around 50 bucks for them. Is it hard to get cranksets in Australia or something?

Those things are pretty rickety and have been known to fall over easily. I can get two of these for around the same price and they fold up out of the way when not in use (sorry for the crappy cell pics):

Shoot me a PM if interested.

Saw your comment about the hangers you used. My gf and I just moved into a new spot and we are limited on space. We saw the vertical stand at target for 30 bucks and now this REI stand as well. Are they really that rickety? I was about to make one out of pvc, but i'm guessing that might tip over.

Anyway, your setup looks clean and would like to know where you got those from. Also, will it be mandatory to drill into the studs? I think our management doesn't want us drilling big holes into the wall which is also why we were reluctant to get hangers and a tv wall mount.

(would have PM'd) but I don't have enough posts)

I've got a bunch coming from the distributor. We'll have them in stock and up for sale on the Retrogression site by week's end for under 20 bucks a pop.

They come with drywall anchors but I'm not sure I'd trust it and would recommend drilling into a stud. Once securely mounted, they're rated for 20 kgs/44lbs so they can hold pretty much anything you can throw at them.

edit: I just got word from my distributor that they'll be in my hands tomorrow.

I had one of those stands like the REI one in my basement a few years back and the damn thing was always tipping to one side until I anchored the top of it to a wall. Even then, I hated it.

Landlords always say not to drill any holes, hang heavy pictures/mirrors/TVs etc. but as long as you know how to spackle and paint and aren't a total hack when drilling into the walls, it's easily repaired.
