New Wheels, Grease

Hello.

I have just purchased some new wheels for my bike. They are Weinman DP18s with a flip flop hub. I bought a new shimano freewheel and as soon as I threaded it on, I realized I needed to grease the hub thread first.

Do I need to remove the freewheel and grease the hub before I ride the bike? I am assuming this is pretty vital...

Do I need to grease the front hub at all?

Any suggestions on what type of grease to use or how to apply it?

Thanks for any help!

yes you should. Also grease the axle and the washer that will be against the dropout. Use a standard teflon grease or white grease or whatever really, just not an aerosol spray grease thing, you want the thick stuff. Don't go nuts with it, and wipe away the excess when you've put the stuff back on.
