Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? That seller has some other awesome finds too, three Shimano 600 Aero cranksets w/ pedals and clips are going for 102.50 with 1 1/2 days left. Wish I had the money/need.

No you don't. I have the Dura Ace cranks and they're useless unless you have the right slotted cleats for the pedals. I also read that the bearings in these pedals are subject to more wear, but that could be BS considering how oversized they are.

I'd get the centurion, but why are you looking at two bikes that are so different in size?

my sympathies to you on your loss but it looks like your situation has indeed put you into a panic & you are running around like the proverbial chicken with its head cut off. try to calm yourself & approach it rationally so you don't end up even worse off, like buying a bike that does not fit just to have one.

i can't believe i am about to say this but...do you know your size for sure & can you afford to wait a week for a mail order bike to arrive? if so, & minimum outlay is most important to you, then look at the windsors over a kilo as you mentioned in your other thread.

good luck...

yes infact i have, top tube on the schwinn was to short, my ubber body felt cramped. i delt because it is what i had and didnt want to pan out for like a 120 nitto stem or longer. looking at the contender from state and the new kilo tt.

but if i could pickup a bike asap that fit, ill roll on it even if its a roadie.

tbh im kind of throwing clist adds here because they look like they "may fit". sorry dont wanna spam **** but yes kind of a headless chicken.
just wanted low downs on the bike before i even looked at, test road ect. so im not even wasting time on a bike that isnt worth buying.
