Gear ratio advice.
I want to climb one of the local mountains, anyone with experience, what gear ratio would be appropriate for a constant 6%+ grade for 28 miles? My two-speed setup that will be finished soon will have 66/60gi. Spinning out is not an issue.
Here's a chart I found:

Being a Newbie I have no idea what you should use, but WOWZA! 28 miles at a 6% grade, I think I would give up about a mile in. Best of luck

It all depends on your personal fitness. I would go around 66 on a fg.
Remember you have to come down the hill too. If your using a flip/flop you may want one gear for going up and one for coming down.
Are you going ss or fixed? Road or mtb?

Constant tinkerer
1. You're crazy! (crazy = much more motivated than me.)
2. What kind of hub do you have? Flip flop? You said it was a two speed. My commuter is a "two speed" using a Shimano Freehub and a double chainring. I have 48/18 for riding around town and 40/25 for going offroad and other goofing off.
