Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

This, but to order a new one you have to specify the steerer diameter, probably 1" or 1 1/8" and whether you have a threaded or unthreaded steerer.

That's what the part is called. It sits on the crown. The balls go on it, then the cup, which is in the steer tube, sits on those.

Yes, I know. You didn't get my bad joke.

I do have a feeling the OP is asking about the headset in its entirety though, not just one part.

Yeah, I got it, but the OP has one post under his belt, so I know he wants a distinctive and precise answer.
