^ this.

Scrod, your average ride is 10 miles round trip.

OP- Not knowing how much your months bonus is, invest in a nice set of tires like gp4000's that were recommended. Possibly a nicer saddle. Much more noticeable gains in performance compared to a crankset.

I've done three centuries. How many have you done?

gt35built 11-02-10 02:08 PM

Ive done one. You've got me beat!

AngryScientist 11-02-10 02:09 PM

a set of clipless pedals and real bike shoes will make the most difference in your riding, based on your set-up, hands down.

Not trying to "beat" you but come on, dude. You have no idea how much I ride.

I've seen the way you get treated over at tarckbike. Are you going for that here too?

thewilson 11-02-10 02:14 PM

Alright well it sounds like I'm quite set until something breaks (aside from everyone not liking the dirty tape that is. haha). Guess I'll just go treat myself to a nice beer instead.
Lothrop not Lovett and I just got done working the halloween craziness in downtown salem, it was a ****ing nightmare.

Also scrod I'm pretty handy with a screen ( I don't know if you print your own shirts. )

Scrodzilla 11-02-10 02:16 PM

Crap...I meant Lothrop. I always do that. I think I saw your bike on the back of a car somewhere down there a while ago. Ever go to the Lucky Dog?

Yeah well I've done like five!

That is probably the most on this forum there is no way anyone has done more than that!!

thewilson 11-02-10 02:21 PM

I don't remember leaving the lucky dog saturday but i was certainly there. it's the only bar in bev I like.

Scrodzilla 11-02-10 02:26 PM

Me too. My lady and I were there until closing Saturday night too, after riding back from Salem. We live right around the corner from there on Central.

Dude, know when to quit. gt35butt already declared that none of us actually ride in another thread.

hahahaha thats great

needs a keyboard mount for the aeros

evangelinegale 11-02-10 02:44 PM

first off, screw whoever said invest, green paper is only as fun as the stuff you can get with it. personally when my bikes need no upgrades(which is rare) and i have no bills(which is even more rare) then i always enjoy a new bag. i'm what some call a bag *****. but if that's not your bit then new tires always feel fantastic. between new tires and tape it'll feel brand new.

gt35built 11-02-10 02:48 PM

When you invest your intentions are to let that money grow into more green paper, which would allow you to purchase more fun stuff.

You a bag w-hore? as in hand bag? or a bag of bud?

You are totally right, planning for the future is totally idiotic. Instead, we should all buy more trivial bags.

pretty much. i have to ask for special accommodations for all my classes as well.

evangelinegale 11-02-10 02:57 PM

psh, see? vixtor agrees. don't bother with saving and investing and all that crap, just don't wear a helmet or use brakes and you'll probably never have to see your broke future arrive. and as in messenger bags. i don't "smoke" and carry way too much crap for a purse.

bumblebeetuna 11-02-10 03:05 PM

Bike bag lobbying itt

thewilson 11-02-10 03:20 PM

I can't even begin to explain how amusing I find that everyone is' SAVE SAVE SAVE. If I did that I wouldn't even have a bike. NONE OF US WOULD. So I guess I can just assume mommy and daddy bought you all your stuff right ( I mean if you only save your money, you must be spending someone else's)? So again it's my nickel.
I guess I was wrong bike forums works like this.

Scrodzilla 11-02-10 03:22 PM

Screw that noise. Spend it!

Squirrelli 11-02-10 03:31 PM

I actually save then spend. :D

Not trying to convince you to save or anything, I was just poking at the other member with the bag comment. After all, your money.

xavier853 11-02-10 03:41 PM

I save for the parts that I planned on buying and then buy them.

Actually I have a habit of NOT saving my money when I should.
