Actually, that is the intake. The 935 is rear is rear engine machine. Check the V shaped vent on the drivers side of the windscreen apparatus. The guys is Jean Claude Rude, and he perished while attempting to break a speed record.

I was joking about the picture not showing the drive side of the bike.

Drive side meaning the side where the chainring/s are.

Drive side picture:

Non drive side is the opposite side with the crank arm alone.

Is that what I think it is?

Wait....

What is that?

Squirrelli 11-03-10 07:27 PM

Well....the second part reads that it includes coupon on spice...:innocent:

But then...the hole is kind of too small for spices.

It is open to interpretation.

Yes, $140 for an incense burner ... ;)

Philthy Bastard 11-03-10 07:53 PM

It better include a gram of very pure "incense".

I'm surprised he's not running disc wheels on that thing. If there were ever a situation to make them worthwhile, that's it!

Still the most awesome thing ever.

I believe that discs weren't available at that time. If you look at track racing from the 70s and 80s there were no discs or aero stuff used then either. HED started making discs in 1985. Zipp in 1988.

PJB just next leveled the poop out of this thread. Well done sir.

I've always wanted a bike with a chainring like that...and about a 50 tooth sprocket to go with it.

avner 11-04-10 10:11 AM

They need to make 11T for situations like this.

XianRL 11-04-10 11:03 PM

What?! No helmet?!

TheBikeRollsOn 11-05-10 09:11 AM

Are you blind? How do you not see the enormous white helmet?

I Have a Bike 11-05-10 10:59 AM

I would love if that model was actually a slot car.

Kayce 11-05-10 11:52 AM

There is no need for a disk or any aero equipment, thats what the giant scoop on the car is for. Its taking up all the wind resistance.

No, I'm not blind. Yes, I didn't see the white helmet in the shots of him actually racing. But also, would the helmet do him a lot of good at those speeds? (Grab the can opener.)

The scoop is reducing aerodynamic drag due to forward movement, but it is doing nothing to reduce the aerodynamic drag caused by the rotating wheel. A disk wheel would still help.

The current record for motor-pacing is 152 mph... could not find how fast this set up was but back in 1973 the record was 139mph.
