I hoped for these. As seen at the Alley Cat I WON in Charlotte, NC last weekend...

My arms hurt just looking at these pics. I wouldn't want to ride more than a half hour on those.

ive chopped an inch off the ends before, but left enough of the "pointey up" bit to keep the hands from sliding off. less protrusive and "hookey"....looked a little nicer too. although chopping bullhorns there is a little much.

erpdat 11-15-10 05:56 PM

If you have crappy bars and wanna chop em, go for it. I just forked up $60 and bought 38cm nitto rb-021s. They're narrow, fast and you don't need to chop them. I have a friend here who chopped his but I don't see the point. The parts that go up are meant to be used.

I know why TT and Tri guys do it, but no clue why this guy did it. For TT/Tri you are almost never on the base-bars and so its not important to have an upturn (which has a bigger footprint in the wind)....

How?

avner 11-15-10 07:03 PM

he got them in anodized red, brah.

xkillemallx16 11-15-10 07:33 PM

i dont like the shape of rb21s

i run rb18's now.

erpdat 11-15-10 07:44 PM

They're not faster. Wrong wording there. They just feel more responsive for the kind of riding I do. But then again, I was riding drops before these. I'll never ride track drops on the street again.

longjohns 11-15-10 07:58 PM

Yeah I'm probably going to buy my new bullhorns tomorrow. Anyone know where I can buy some profile airwings in NYC?

Leukybear 11-15-10 08:29 PM

Lovin the older pista in the back :D

longjohns 11-15-10 08:38 PM

Yeah it's my wifes bike. It's a size too big for her but we got it for an absolute steal. It just needed a new headset!

Submison 11-15-10 09:14 PM

I had a pair of these; I chopped a Nitto RB-021 down like this. I did a 60 mile ride on bars like these and they were very comfortable.. Also if you flip them over you have townie bars! Admittedly I used the pursuit bars more for a townie situation and I loved em for it.

blickblocks 11-15-10 09:59 PM

I had some Syntace Stratos that I chopped. Made sense when I had a bar end shifter, but I lost the aero position.

jtso23 11-15-10 10:36 PM

My chopped and flipped Nitto RB-021 are so damn comfy.

Damn, those are kind of cool lol.^

Anyone have RB-002's yet?

longjohns 11-15-10 11:19 PM
