Attachable handlebars?

Greetings everyone. I came across this very odd handlebar contraption add-on thing and was wondering if any members here could enlighten me a bit on it. It looks to be some sort of attachable add-on handlebar position that you can install on any existing handlebar and it looks quite neat.

(Do excuse having to tilt your head to side as I am not the owner of this photograph.)

Those are aero-bars, they are supposed to help you engage in a very aerodynamic position if set up properly. Besides the Cane Creek Speed bars, almost all aero-bars are not legal for mass-start races. You'll only see them on a time trial bike or pursuit bike. They are usually set up with a set of bullhorns instead of drops.

Vixtor - I don't think the contraption in the photo I posted is an aerobar. In the photo I have provided, it seems the 2 holding positions at the center were mounted onto the existing drop bar whereas in an aerobar, it all comes in 1 piece. That was kind of what I was meaning to ask about in this thread, those 2 holding positions in the center that seems to be an add-on type of thing.

It's just a different type of aero bar attachment. There are a ton of different styles and typically they are two pieces that attach to your existing bars like this:

Considering the pic you posted came from fixedgeargallery, why don't you just send the bike's owner an e-mail and ask what bars they are?
