Agreed. It once used to mean something but today its really more of a label you're paying for because there are few real bike manufaturing companies left. They are for the most part really distribution companies these days despite their name.

You could say that Hyundai is like the BD of cars, but not really, because, unlike BD, Hyundai didn't buy someone else's heritage. Hyundai is more like the IRO of cars.

idk about that...for the most part, with cars, I feel like you get what you paid for. in the sense that if you pay more for a new car, youll be driving around a nicer car than a cheaper one.

I mean, when you buy an Audi vs. a Honda. You're not paying 10k more just for Audi's heritage. It is cause Audi's would outperform a honda in almost all aspects except for maybe reliability haha.

the more you guys talk about this the stupider you sound. audi's are ****.

the reason i used acura vs honda is because an acura IS a honda. and the csx is built off a civic. in fact, it's basically a jdm civic.

comparing toyota to hyundai to audi is mindless, because they're not made in the same factory.

Hyundai = Korean built Mitsubishi, so you're not really buying a dark horse car. The original Hyundai Excel used the same powerplant and drivetrain as a Mitsubishi Mirage, which was also the same as a Plymouth/Dodge Colt. I replaced a 1985 Dodge Colt 1.5 L engine with a 1.5 L engine from a Hyundai Excel back in the day and used the Hyundai's frame mounts even, it mated to the Colt's 5 speed transmission with no issues or modifications. Drove that car another 200K miles.
