needs more aero

Yup, nearly unlimited riding positions to choose from.
and they only take about an hour to navigate through the quill stem to mount them.
<3 the 90s.
you must live by me, i saw this today too
I've got some of those bars. Had them on a 12" kids bike that we used for joking around.
Thinking about putting them on one of my road bikes.... I wouldn't try busting out a skid holding onto the ends tho, they are pretty flexy and you get a ton of leverage at the stem... |
The brake placement seems strange. Other than that I want it...
I've seen these before. IIRC they're a short-lived Scott or Easton aero bar design that was (obviously) intended for mostly Triathalons.
Pretty ridiculous, and definitely one of the stranger designs I've come across. |
So apparently the only time he needs to brake is during field sprints out of the saddle?
Or when he's doing handstands on the handlebars?
"I would like 4 packages of bar tape please."
So one person gets ripped apart for refering to fixed gear geometry, but not a word has been said about a set of fixie handle bars?

I think those bars look extremely impractical. Also, they are ugly as sin. I would never spend money on those, and if I got them for free, I would not use them. What a bad idea.
Could chop them and use then for 3 or 4 practical bars.
!!!! I just bought the gripshifts that fit on those bars new in box at goodwill. the copyright says 1989.

Really, how different are the hand positions between the two bikes?: http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n...0/P1100860.jpg http://whynottri.files.wordpress.com...time_trial.jpg One is just the ancestor to the other. Of course, there are no field sprints in time trial racing. The drops are used during starting, cornering, climbing, and braking. |
and its a quill stem. It's like navigating a maze to get those bars on or off.

I actually remember seeing bars like these on an ebay posting once, except they were covered in garish yellow bar tape, and the aerobar part was connected at the end, so that the bars were just one giant loop. |
Blame Lemond or tri geeks
wow... those are... wow...
I am absolutely convinced that triathletes only ride bikes because they have to.
