Do you prefer fixed gear, single speed, or both?

Sorry shenny88, but your poll wasn't so hot so I took the liberty of creating a new one. Hopefully it will be better received, as I am also curious about this.

BTW, I ride both. FG for the snow, SS for everything else (and FG for fun when I feel like it.)

klaw091 11-17-10 05:39 PM

wheres the poll?

FastJake 11-17-10 05:41 PM

Should be right above the first post up there ^

cc700 11-17-10 05:43 PM

depends. for street/road riding i prefer fixed or geared. if i'm going to coast why not have gears.

Deshi 11-17-10 06:06 PM

As long as there is only one gear, im happy.

ya i'm with u on this one. My commuter is a SS, but not by choice. Unusable components, so I ripped them off and made it SS.

singlespeeds are for sissies who cant ride fixies and yea i said fixie...and my bike tires match my handlebars.

Your a sissy.

I do not understand why someone would ride a single-speed coaster if they had the option of riding a fixed gear bike.

Dannihilator 11-17-10 08:12 PM

Both.

Have a fixed gear that I really like and my mtb's a singlespeed.

chenghiz 11-17-10 08:13 PM

Does it count as singlespeed if I ride my road bike and just don't shift? :P

xavier853 11-17-10 08:44 PM

I prefer fixed.

Squirrelli 11-17-10 08:44 PM

shenny88 11-17-10 09:24 PM

haha thanks, its cool.
i was originally looking for a "how many" answer, but a comparison or percentage is much more reflective. I was more worried that it would be a repost

nooooo! :o

RobotsNPuppets 11-17-10 11:03 PM

Both; Road/street/urban riding I go fixed. I own a single speed MTB.

TurboDream17 11-18-10 12:09 AM

I prefer fixed in all but one scenario: riding down massive hills. Just seems like such a waste of energy at that point.

dbwoi 11-18-10 12:22 AM

I'll coast when i'm dead

Edit: F it im deleting it

Dannihilator 11-18-10 12:26 AM

You need to take that image to photoediting software and resize it.
