Does anyone have experience with this tire? Reviews appreciated.

Very light weight race tire. Thin and puncture prone. One of the lightest clincher tires on the market. Horrible if you wanna skid.

They sure are light... those babies are only 190g each - 40g lighter than the Specialized Mondo S-WORKS clincher I was running before. And that Mondo was a light tire. I consider them pretty comparable because both tires are 127 TPI and are suited for road racing and aggressive riding.

My experience is that they're fast, quiet, and very sticky. Much happier with them over the Specialized rubber I've used in the past. But, as mentioned by Deshi, their lightness comes at a cost - prone to punctures (as most light race tires are). However, for the cost, there's no better bang for the buck out there. If you do your homework, you can usually find these tires at, or below $30 a pop (no pun intended).

In all fairness, it depends on where you're riding and what you're riding on, to properly judge these tires. I certainly would not want to ride in the wet... that's for sure. But, if you're carving corners and riding in sunny SoCal, you can't go wrong.

I got 2x Atom Comps and 2x Fusion 3s for $14 each from realcyclist awhile back. I haven't had a chance to ride any of the Atom Comps yet, but I have one Fusion 3 mounted right now. Compared to the $8 Kenda tires from my local co-op (the only other tires I've tried), these are much better. I find them faster, yet grippier, even in wet/melting snow conditions. They are also light... right around 200g.So far they have fared well in terms of puncture resistance, but the roads I ride on are pretty clean from puncture debris. Again, this is a "review" for the Fusion 3 (not the Atom Comp).

I don't have a whole lot more to add at this point, as the current weather conditions have been crappy, and we've got an estimated 20+ inches in this upcoming week.

$14 per is a pretty good deal any way you look at it. Realcyclist has been a great resource for me as well.

I've got no experience on the Fusions 3's. However, I'm not surprised to hear that you've noticed a major improvement over the Kenda's you've ridden in the past. Thanks for your take on the Fusions - it's always good to have some alternatives / cheap spares at arm's length just in case.

Out here in SoCal (I ride in the Coachella Valley as well the LA coastal cities), there's crap all over the roads. The worst being broken glass and an occasional goathead - both do not discriminate... they hate all tires equally. Even my MTB with Purgatory S-WORKS rubber (with tubes) has fallen victim during jaunts on the road. However, I've yet to have any major issues (namely weak beads, repeat punctures, and premature wear) with my Atom Comps (or the Specialized Mondos for that matter). Even after a few punctures, the drastic improvement in speed and traction make them well worth it. Period.

I'm interested in hearing your take on the performance of the Atom Comps vs. the Fusions.
