Mercier Upgrading.

Hey guys, I was wondering why my friend says that the mercier frame is super beginner and that upgrading it would still be a waste. Cause I ride one atm and I wanna put Sugino RD cranks and a bunch of other stuff on it ie: New saddle, Deep V, HED3(only cause I got it for cheap) . Is it really a waste to put all these good parts on the mercier? He says it shouldn't be done because mercier is a "super beginner frame" I just don't understand it. Wouldn't it make more sense to have good cranks, handlebars, wheels and stuff first before upgrading just the frame and having crappy cranks?

What do you guys think?

Here is a good place to start.

I'd be curious to know what a not "super beginner" like himself rides. Kilo's are solid bikes, outfitted from BD with lower end components, upgrade and enjoy.

He rides a Leader 725. I asked him if it's a beginner frame, he said its better than a mercier.

That depends on who you ask. :innocent:

A Kilo TT frame is perfectly worthy of upgrades. We really don't need another thread about this though.

put as much money into upgrading your bike as you want to.
