I've looked around, and independently regardless of a lot of peoples opinions on leader the 722TS has received spectacular reviews. I suppose this is do to Scrod being a shill but I may not be correct on this.

Pake has also gotten a lot of love regarding their frame.
Personally I'd suggest also taking a looksi at this which I think is going to give you some absolutely AMAZING bang to buck ratio. Not sure why no one has suggested it yet. It's in line with the prices of what you're looking at and frankly it's some beautiful effing steel. They also have a couple other framesets available within your price range you could look into.

i'm not sure about how much shipping is from here though, that might be an issue.

Doesn't PBK ship for free?

yummygooey 12-12-10 10:33 PM

The site says 10% off all online orders and free postage to the USA for a limited time.

That adds up to the exact top of his budget but the I806 fork looks a little wonky when not used on a frame with an internal headset (IMO) because of the large fork crown. If you want a carbon fork on that frame, you'd be better off with the S805.

scrod, whats the weight difference between the s803 and s805? the s805 is sold out everywhere.

Scrodzilla 12-13-10 11:59 AM

Not sure about the weight difference but I know Leader will have more S805s in stock very soon.

yummygooey 12-13-10 12:38 PM

There's a white S805 on eBay right now, but I think it's a scratch & dent.

Scrodzilla 12-13-10 12:45 PM

That's a different fork entirely with an aluminum steerer.

Dang, the going rate around here was $700 last I heard.

+1 for 722ts, i just got a new frame and it looks great. one of my friends also just got a brand new pake frame and it's also a good quality looking frame. light too.

actually -1 for 722ts. (i like that it's not too common yet haha)

avner 12-13-10 04:30 PM

seriously? no one seconding the Wabi Classic with its 725 Reynolds tubeset and 350 price tag?

Scrodzilla 12-13-10 04:32 PM

I'll second that. That's a killer deal.

avner 12-13-10 04:42 PM

Also, it includes a headset, thats a ballerific deal which makes me wish I could ditch my leader...and get a Wabi Lightning...

I'm 90% sure my next bike is going to be a wabi. After looking over the website with the knowledge I have now, seeing their parts, and their bikes. I'm convinced its worth it to buy locally. That frame is smoking hot.

Squirrelli 12-13-10 04:46 PM

My next bike is going to be aluminium.

yummygooey 12-13-10 04:51 PM

Wow, the Wabi seems like quite the deal. Leader/Wabi/IRO... which one?!

I've never ridden an aluminum bike, but I like the durability of steel. Steel feels real, dawg. I'd give aluminum a chance if I came by a good deal, though.

Squirrelli 12-13-10 05:00 PM

Value wise, I think Wabi takes the cake, then Leader/IRO is tied for me.

Moto Team Track is always a good deal. :P

Mine too. :innocent:

avner 12-13-10 05:06 PM

mine too. Weather that ends up as a wabi lightning or leader now just is only pending on financial aid. Aka bike money.

Squirrelli 12-13-10 05:15 PM

*cough cough* :innocent:

For complete aluminium bike, Moto Team Track is excellent. It'd definitely be my "next" bike.
