zlog, hold fast...ect
just wondering if anyone has any of these toe straps? not into tricking, just have a track bike and wondering if these straps are anygood just for that...?
give me a review if you have either of these or your opinion on using these instead of the leather double toe straps...thanks in advance, love the forum and all the info i gain from it... |
Haven't tried the new ones, but my Catalinas are great...just hard to slip into with the current BMX Pedals I have. Really feels secure, I definitely Reccomend them!
The new ones look like they are a lot easier to slip into, so thats always a + http://cache0.bigcartel.com/product_...490365/300.jpg |
I dont own them but have ridden them as you described. On a track bike, not for tricks, just foot retention.
They work very well. But to be honest, I don't see man benefits over clips and straps. They do minimize or eliminate toe overlap if that is a big thing for you. They do work on some track pedals, but are more designed for BMX pedals. I dont like BMX pedals so that is a big deal for me. |
here they are on track pedals...was just wondering if there was an advantage to using them over regular straps...

Personal preference... thats all really,

Personal preference. I like them better then cages because my toes didn't get forced into the ends of the cage, which hurts a bit. I found them perfectly fine for actually retaining my foot during fast spins and even skidzzz.

I tested the Bikeage straps pretty extensively on a few different types of pedals and found that I love them with platform pedals but not so much with track pedals.
Lilc - I see your V1s are holding up pretty well! |
I watched the video feed of the 2010 UCI Track World Championships and I noticed a guy using some velcro straps like the ones mentioned in this thread.
It wasn't possible to see what brand he was using or which pedals, but I can't see it being hard to do. You can easily fit them to Dura Ace or Ultegra pedals for sure as well as LOOK pedals with that strap adapter. |
Not sure what brand this is:

Pryme straps on Animal BMX pedals.....I really like these as they are comfortable and work with a variety of shoes (though I mostly ride in some variation of classic Vans)

I assume he got fed up with all of the crap we give him for not posting pictures, so he has gone into a complete troll; begging to be banned.

How exactly do you do this?
I use single and double straps (leather) on dura ace pedals. It would be the same with nylon straps. |

umm....WOW...hahahaha...i get home from work to these shenanigans...lol...gotta love this board...ne way...been thinkin about going this route, still using the same pedals, cages, and straps that my kilo tt came w/, so thought about switching it up a bit...

zlog is re-load. they work well but i don't know how they compare to catalinas. i still use clips and straps or spd's so, i've just seen friend's straps. the zlog straps just have the zlog logo on them. i think they're still less than holdfast (by six bucks) but no where near as affordable as catalinas.
