Nice bike!
Yea, If it gets old ill just change it up. I had a Giant TCR that had a bright yellow frame, and that never got old so we will see haha. This is my "fun" bike to just play around with, and i got it for pretty cheap so ill probably be changing things on it quite a bit lol
Also, what is the chain on your bike, i like it.

Finally got my steamroller how I want it. I actually bought some parts specifically for this one. First time in a LONG time using silver parts by choice.
Polished the stem (cheapo origin-8) on the polishing wheel at work. While I was on the clock. Gotta learn somehow.
I love this PRO tape you can get at cambria for $10. Nice texture and a great price. I try not to ride with gloves when the weather allows.
Thoughts?

I like the black and blue too, except for tires. I can't decide whether silver cranks and/or chainrings would be better or not.

I had the tires, figured this was the best way to wear them down, I don't have anything else with blue anywhere. The headset came with the frameset, so that kind of set the blue accent direction.
Similar story with the cranks, they're surly mr. whirly and most likely headed for a mtb/triple build, but in the meantime I'm open to 110 BCD ring options.
Here's the bike before I ditched the ergo bars and 105 levers-

I don't really like the blue headset and black spacers with this build. I would replace them with silver stuff

You blokes must be a lot younger and more flexible than me to enjoy those saddle to bar drops. So if we do the reasonable thing and ignore my personal comfort, they both look pretty good.

I just received this 2009 GT Gutterball this morning (new old stock). I got a pretty good deal on it and its a size L.
I'm 5'10 and the stand over clearance seems ok - I have about 1/2 inch or so between my boys and the top tube.
I took it out for a quick spin after I assembled and checked everything. I could probably raise the seat up a little bit - not much though. The reach is not as far as my road bike, but it doesn't feel cramped. I could alwyas get a longer stem I suppose.
I know I do not have have any foot retention yet - I have Hold Fast pedal straps on order to fit the platform pedals I put on.
So what don't you like? I was thinking I should get a chrome seat post and stem

Nice find with the new old stock. I think the sizing looks good; having a handful of seatpost is ideal. Don't buy into the whole foot of seatpost fashion fad. Also, you got two brakes; it makes foot retention not as necessary, but it's still fun to have. And of course you're not going to feel as stretched out as on your road bike, you have riser bars on the thing. You'll be okay, man. As for what I don't like about your bike, I don't like the black stem and seatpost or the logos on it. I'd go silver. I also don't like the red accents on the pedals. The wheels are kinda meh, too. That frame is awesome though. Crankset is fine too.

Painfully average.

Currently has lower bars and a higher saddle, new saddle (charge spoon) + post (black and new) is underway, so are new bars (projekt fixie pursuit bars silver, wanted Nitto RB-021 but that would require a new stem) pedals are Time ROC ATAC now. I'm trying to justify new brake calipers but I need an extremely long reach (65 mm) and Dia Compe BRS202 are hard to come by here and the only improvement would be aesthetics.

I'm just simply disagreeing with your statement. Wasn't sheepish at all. Having two brakes shouldn't mean foot retention is any less necessary. It's there for many good reasons.
