Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

To answer vixtor from back in the first page, strong light is french.

Sun Ringle is designed in the USA, but made in Taiwan.

To OP, you are getting a custom titanium frame, sorry to say it, but putting cheaper stuff on it will be an insult to the frame, there's only one way to go here... By getting good components.

What do you think is cheap? These components are all better than "good". Give me a break!

I have a feeling that this project bike will never see the light of day. Just a hunch.

The projects underway and almost completely paid for. Meet me in Austin for the NAHBS(Feb 25-27), my builder is bringing it to the show. Your hunch is wrong.

I hope I'm wrong. I love project bikes. I really love to see them come to fruition.

I should get some photos of the unfinished frame this week. If I do, I'll try to post them. Is anyone going to the NAHBS?

I can't say I don't want one.

I like your build up for the most part but I am not in love with the wheels. I agree painting titanium is kind of a faux pa.. or well I like the look of raw titanium.

I can see your point in not wanting 2 raw titanium bikes though.

some ridiculous american made wheels. where are zipps made? easton?
the only things i don't think are going to be worthwhile are handlebars and saddle, pedals and chain, small stuff like that.

if you got a custom seat mast you wouldn't need the post, but that's up to you. all of the stuff that you can cut out from the frame is stuff that's easily sourced from the US.
If Easton from bikes is in anyway related to the Easton from hockey, they're more than likely made in China, like their hockey sticks and everything else.

Custom designed and fabricated 56mm deep composite rims with Variable Nipple Bed technology. Proprietary hubs feature unique spoke interface and a proprietary system for mounting the rear cog. Each EC90 TKO wheelset comes compete with three custom machined, 1/8” alloy track cogs. Entirely hand-built and acoustically tuned in Easton’s own factory.
Says they're made of "Easton Carbon"

Meaning they're made from Chinese carbon, like the hockey sticks I think..

Someone mentioned they were skeptical of the ROL rims. To be honest, the wheelset has a been a very dificult decision and I don't know much about these particular rims or the company. I saw some post by "roadies" with regard to the ROl Race SL and they all sounded very positive, but who knows. My builder has experience with them and he believes they will compliment the bike very well. That being said, he and I are still very open to other ideas.

I know many disagree with my choice to paint the bike, but I am really excited about the paint scheme. Hopefully I will not regret this decision.

Thanks, I hope so. The band color will be vanilla with silver script outlined in black(or maybe it's black script outlined in silver). I can't remember. Spectrum Powder Works is doing the paint.
