Funky new (?) Origin-8 aluminum track frame

http://www.origin-8.com/?page_id=91&...set&cl1=FRAMES

Has anyone checked this frame out? I've heard literally nothing about it.

My take? Horrid welds, awful dropouts, eyesore fork... But an interesting looking design, nonetheless. Twin top tubes? bizarro

Whatchoo think?

i think it is pathetic they have one shot of the frame's profile that gives you no view of its "unique" feature

Looks like it's been beaten with an ugly stick.

Check out o8's line of forks. they're pretty slick.

Horrendously ugly. One of the worst looking frames I have ever seen.

I've seen some classic BMX frames that are built the same way. I'd assume that's what they're going for!

This is what happens when EVERYONE and their momma starts designing products.

I cant think of a good reason that the rear end tubes are about the same size as the fork blades other than they HAD to be hydroformed. This bike could have been designed a hundred different ways with the same design objectives and it could have still been sexy.

At least the dropouts are machined and you get bar spin clearance </sarcasm>

That frame sucks.

doesn't trek have a split top tube bike out there? I think they tout it as an 'integrated u-lock holder'.

Edit: It' the 'Earl'

At least those were functional. They were designed so that you can "surf" on the frame. Those types of flatland moves are pretty passť and forgotten.

I saw a Trek Earl at a bike shop. Surprisingly heavy, with low end components, and (IMO) it's ugly. Steel handlebars, steel seatpost, etc. Definitely not worth $400+
