Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

If the missionary photo was taken in Logan, betcha he bought the bike at Joyride Bicycles!
Will just carrying his helmet get him to heaven sooner?

haha so you have been to the black hole located in northern UT then? Sorry, but it will eventually suck you back in. The pic was just found online, and is probably in cali. Of course i say that because its sunny there, and here....well we just got above freezing for the first time in weeks. And it was snowing.

Maybe I saw the same guy. I've seen a few other Mormons on fixies lately, too.

I'm guessing they are just regular hipsters who thought it would be funny to dress up like mormons.

And when I say hipsters I don't mean real hipsters who go to bars and are friends with DJs, I mean fake hipsters who buy fixed gear bikes and drink PBR.

Fork looks perfectly normal for an old road bike.

Mormon bikes are branded "Liahona".

They get limited cell phone use sometimes! It's for their missionary business. They can't call family or girlfriends or anything like that.

Will just carrying his helmet get him to heaven sooner?
You might think that. But they don't actually need them. They can just zapp cars out of the way with holy lightning bolts from their fingertips.

I agree. I'm not a fan of any sort of organized religion but everyone is entitled to whatever they'd like to support or believe in without insult from the peanut gallery.
