I mean, it has potential, but those bars.... using that frame on the street... uggh :notamused:

Nagrom_ 05-14-12 05:31 PM

I think, way back when, that was one of the first pictures of a fixed gear I had ever seen.

TheRealFaux 05-14-12 07:04 PM

i can dig it

Leukybear 05-14-12 07:06 PM

Oof my back hurts just looking at that. By no means should that frame should even be allowed to touch pavement.

Kayce 05-14-12 07:29 PM

Its illegal to race that bike. So that bike should only be a wall hanger because you say so?

GENESTARWIND 05-14-12 07:35 PM

sportbikes shouldnt be ridden on the street either

you know them being terrible for commuting with such aggressive riding positions that take heritage for ama and motogp and all.

better stick to your cruiser and sport tourers.

Yup; saw off the seattube clamp and brake bridge and file down the BB threads and saw a horizontal slit through the shell and hang that decommissioned sucker up on the wall.

This one's from Craigslist a couple months back. I saved the images and forgot about them 'til now. It's a VISP conversion with Leader decals. I **** you not, someone actually bothered to convert a VISP road frame and re-paint it and put Leader decals on it.

Were their chainstays always that long?!

TheRealFaux 05-15-12 01:57 PM

I think those are 650c wheels.

Scrodzilla 05-15-12 01:58 PM

Tessas (aka Weinmann DP18s) don't come in 650c.

IvyCap 05-15-12 02:01 PM

im not familiar with the frame...but besides the slightly up tilted saddle im not sure whats so jackass about it. aerospokes are kind of passe/novelty but double is not as jackass as just a front one (lol i have just a front one on my "sweet fixay" biek).

i dunno overall its not a bad street fixed gear bike IMO unless im missing something...

TheRealFaux 05-15-12 04:05 PM

Instead of spokes/paul crankset, he could have phils/njs crankset for around the same amount of money. The latter is #madstreetcred

On the tops obviously.... you take the majority of people running track drops on the street and lop off both ends of their bars at the top and aside from cosmetics, they won't have problem at all with using them.

jimmytango 05-15-12 04:30 PM

Then just buy some damned flat bars.
