Wow.... Someone who cared enough to upgrade a bike but still was somehow dumb enough to buy a Thruster. I always assumed these were sold to people with no money, who heard about "fixies" on tv once or something and thought they were cool, and knew absolutely nothing about bikes so they wouldn't modify them..

I always see people around here riding that yellow GMC road bike in full lycra kit. It makes me lawl hard. They probably spend more money on the clothes than the bike

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=256763 Sometimes it's a matter of convenience. I was visiting NY for a week last summer and it was easier and cheaper to get a GMC bike on that end than to bring my bike from Texas. As long as you grease, re-pack, and adjust everything up front they ride fine. It took a couple hours up front, but I had a great time riding around with my dad, both in NYC proper and into upstate. (plus, in NYC that's about as much money as I'd be willing to lock up on the street) |

And if it was for convenience I would get it, but I always see the same people on them so I know its not. A lil while ago there was one left outside the shop and people would always come and ask about that bike and whether or not it was awesome and if we sold them and stuff. I guess I dont get people who get a crappy bike and then get team kits worth more than the bike itself. Oh and gripshift FTW |

cross-brake on the bottom of the drop. rear brake only. Size 53 when there are no 53cm FTPs. No foot retention. Leader stickers. It's a fascinating bike.

odd brake lever position in the drops.

Other than the bars and lever, I kinda dig that bike.

There isn't any good place to put levers on those bars. Whereas on the LeaderTP there was plenty of flat at the top of the bars for the cross lever.

I was only making reference to the lever placement. The rest of the bike is perfectly fine except for the lack of foot retention.

If you're going over 15 mph I would say so. His lever placement is weird because he is using a cross lever. It would be a lot better if used a road lever - like you would with mustache bars.

But if you have brakes, is retention actually a necessity?
