That crank is ugly.... phil could've worked harder.... the 75's upstage it.

Even Andels upstage that thing (hides from TT).

On a side note; it would kinda cool to actually mount and ride that plastic 3D model heheheh. :p

is it a mold? then they reverse fill the mold with alloy and injection molding? lol yea like i know what im talking about~

Depending on what plastic they used you might be able to.

That crank was 3D printed. It is becoming the new standard in prototyping, and soon the new standard in production. You can read that many of the other products they are working on are also being 3D printed.

Check out what one can do with a CAD program at home.

And yes, it is rather plain looking, but that has been the design language that Phil Wood and Co. has been speaking for the last 40 years. Simple, effective and strong. Pretty isn't really part of that equation.

Perhaps they can polish the raised feature on the arm, but at this point this is all speculation.

I don't know but I think I've been led away from plain simple design thanks to my recent sram purchases... full red gruppo; s80's; you can't blame me.... :p

Rapid prototyping is expensive, no? Though I'm sure you can outsource the work fairly easily once you get the 3D models drawn up.

Sugino 75s are plain, and they do plain well.

I would hope when the "real thing" comes out it is forged rather than cast.

Kind of wondering what kind of taper that crank will utilize. Phil propriety, maybe...

Looks bloated---both visually and $$$-ly.
