Helmet cam?
 

hey do any of you guys know any good helmet cams beside the gopro? I want to be able to mount a video camera onto my helmet to take video of some of my rides.

What camera do you have now? Most compacts with
a good image stabilization will probably do a good job.

contourHD and goproHD are the best out.

though the new contour you can sync up w your iphone (if you have one). i forget if it works w other phones.....but anyway you can sync it up to preview the view and change camera settings.

I picked up a Midland XTC at REI for $99. Good value. mounts for handlebar, helmet, etc. Good for about an hour of video before you have to put in new batteries and a mem card. I'd go for a Contour. What VW touched on was the Contour HD GPS. It has bluetooth connectivity that will link with a yet to be realeased (less than a month) app for the iPhone and eventually Android that allows the changing of settings with your phone. Best part is that it also makes the phone a viewfinder so you can actually see what you're shooting before you shoot.

I think I'm gonna wait off on one for a little and see what newer ones come out!
