I get to buy cranks again

So come to find out those dura ace cranks I bought were bunk. The left side arm has a good 1-2 mm of play in the splines. I'm so not happy now.

I was thinking omniums as much as i don't want to. Unless I can find an arm, but I kinda don't see that happening.

This guy has one for $98 plus shipping from Japan.

They do pop up occasionally on the eBay, but nothing in the proper size right now.

Omniums are the stiffest cranks around. You can't go wrong.

I'd like to know more about the conditions of the sale,

A local sale, face to face?

On line?

Guarantees?

Local sale face to face. Dude said they didnt fit on his bike because of thier Q factor. Busts out his little pen to check my bills like i printed them the morning of. Guess he wanted to make sure he was getting real money for his janked out cranks. Expensive NJS paper weights is what I got. At a glance they look intact, but when you mount them up its a different story.

Right now i'm torn between omniums or a brand new set of dura ace arms from tree fort bikes. Once my pedals finally show up I have another problem to deal with now. I just wanna ride the thing. Any one bought from tree fort before? Experiences?

I bought my charge saddle from tree fort bikes. Ordered Monday and got it Friday. Did a price match online, came in a nice box. Guess a pretty good experience in my book.

that's the fun of buying used. my lynskey split down the top tube due to a poorly formed tube or improper welding, and because i'm the second owner the lifetime warranty doesn't apply.

that's rude. this is clearly not a misuse issue...as the mfg, they should own up regardless of the ownership.

any octalink NDS arm will do in a pinch.
the drive side is where the mojo is anyway.

look for a 105 or similar arm until you can find the correct dura ache one

They're awesome; plus there's sometimes free goodies if you spend a certain amount. I bought a higher end helmet and some park tool goodies and they gave me a super nice company beer glass.
Maybe it's in conjunction with the spend more than $125 and get free shipping promo I think....

that's what i thought. i hoped buying an expensive, american-made product would get me a better customer support experience. they did offer me a crash replacement discount, but that kind of annoys me since I didn't crash it and took great care of it. They said they weren't even sure if it was repairable, and i'd be responsible for all shipping costs for them to determine if they could even fix it.

whatever, **** david lynskey. i'm buying chinese

2nd person to mention they got a free beer glass, I can only hope. I went and ordered a brand new set of dura ace arms this morning, called it in and talked to Ben who was very helpful. Should see the new cranks by Friday and I did end up resolving the issue of the messed up ones. As long as all goes to plan I'll be a happy camper. Learned my lesson, buy new.

Hurrah! Hope you get a glass, possibly two for calling it in.

So, we're looking at pictures of your Raleigh, say....this weekend?

I sure hope so. I wanna ride it. I'm also getting closer to building my lighter wheels. Here's hoping the week plays out in my favor.
