Macaframa/Raleigh Track Frame

rustybrown 03-07-11 05:56 PM

worst thread title ever.

Same bike as last year, no?

Scrodzilla 03-07-11 05:57 PM

As much as I don't like to buy into the 'hype', I really want one of those frames.

Could go for an older Rush Hour Pro, as well.

vw addict 03-07-11 05:58 PM

Agreed and changed.

By the way, you can make ANYTHING look fast and action-packed if you zoom in reality tight and wiggle the camera a lot. This is a trick in movies and TV shows to make otherwise lame fight scenes look interesting.

91MF 03-07-11 06:03 PM

yea i didnt mean to do that. i thought i typed 'raleigh pro' or something in the title.

apologies

Scrodzilla 03-07-11 06:14 PM

Too late for apologies. I have snipers on the roof across the street from your house.

As dumb as the video/commercial/whatever is, I really like the frame.

91MF 03-07-11 06:19 PM

haha

yea i dont really give a damn about the video i just like the way that frame looks.

carleton 03-07-11 06:19 PM

I actually think it's a nice ad. It's selling a feeling. Lots of company do this, Nike being the most prominent. They rarely discuss how their products differentiate themselves from the competition.

I think this commercial started that trend:

Hothead286 03-07-11 06:21 PM

How "limited edition" are these?

Leukybear 03-07-11 06:35 PM

Macafail... they could've/ would've sold more frames if they started putting out these public videos before actually shipping out the frames or during a pre order cycle.... bad business, then again what do you expect from hipsters?

Frameset is nice nonetheless, especially how it pays homage to my one and only bay area/ SF; I won't hesitate buying a used or even new one if the price is right.

i seriously hate that sh!!t. i call it "hollywood-style" fight scenes. I just picture some 90's brah as the cameraman yelling "whooaaaa extreme to the max!!" and ****ing with the zoom while jiggling around, chain wallet clinking in his overly baggy cargo shorts.

i LOVE oldschool kung fu movie style action film camera work. its really still and just follows the action and usually has the figther's full bodies in the shots instead of all zoomed in.

you are right, its mainly to hide ****ty fight scenes. if you watch movies with quality fight scenes you'll notice the camera work is more still and panned out. like the matrix or any tony jaa stuff.

sorry im a kung fu movie nerd lol

i didnt mean the ad was crap, i just meant it didnt effect my opinion of the frames appearance, which i do like.

since we are off topic a bit and talking about adverts and their ability to create an emotional response, even if they arent talking directly about the product or service, here is my submission - fasten your seatbelts

I was expecting the frame to look something like the Cinelli Mash SF monstrosity. Pleasantly surprised, and am not disappoint.

dansjustchillin 03-07-11 07:27 PM

I love mine so far. I havent really got to actually ride it yet but from the short little test ride i did it seemed pretty amazing. Hopefully this weekend i'll have the parts to finish it proper and get a real test ride in.

I like this frame, too. The colors are very pleasing. The frame itself looks like a Motobecane Team Track with a top tube on roids.

Fantana 03-07-11 08:58 PM

Love the frame, lettering, etc..

Very nice...

Cynikal 03-07-11 09:19 PM

I'll take this one over that.

i think i'll just paint mine like it sans lettering...or maybe do something else in similar lettering
i love the colors
