it's funny how the trends change. "Oh man pursuit bars are so neat looking!" |

I had these on my old IRO Mark V Pro. Perfect for a cruiser/basket/bar bike. The grip areas are much more parallel than they look in the pic, and are much narrower than other bars of this type, as they dont flair out a lot. They worked great, IMHO, looked great, and was actually pretty comfortable on longer/faster rides. I used a single lever like that, but used track grips. I cant find any pics at the moment. |
i used those montmarte bars on my kilo, and loved them as well, very comfortable bars. i felt like i needed to be sipping on a cup of tea while riding.

Ive got a surly pacer Im using as a commuter/basket bike, and I am contemplating swapping the drops out for these. Just need to figure out the shifter reconfigure (its a 10sp right now)

while they seem to be increasingly popular with custom builders, one piece bar/stems are still pretty unusual. http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n..._01/johnny.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_wSjooMCwpZ...mmerhead+1.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wSjooMCwpZ...mmerhead+2.jpg http://vanillabicycles.com/frames/track/1/lrg/5.jpg http://vanillabicycles.com/frames/track/2/lrg/5.jpg |
My Surly has the Gregg LeMond designed handlebars, that curl around on the bottom and offer a second level of bars , paralleling the top bar. LeMond designed them so he could take on a more areodynamic position. At least that is what my Bike mechanic told me..
