What the hell exactly is a hipster and what does he look like?

Hey guys.

I just read a thread about inexperienced hipsters riding brakeless lol.

Ok my question is, because I never really cared to pay attention, what the hell is a hipster? What does a hipster look like- generally speaking?

I mean i know the answers and its pretty obvious, but still. Generally speaking, what does the stereotypical hipster look like?

I do not dress like the stereotypical hipster (at least I dont think so).

Sorry if the question is dumb, but I mean come to think of sometimes i get the feeling people who ride FG at my university give me weird looks when they see how I dress and the bike I ride (SS). Idk. Just define it for me?

I think the OP is simply in denial.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery.

Ssfg culture is already busted. We have so much in-fighting. At least roadies all agree to hate commuters and MTBers. Diamond framers are the sworn enemy of recumbent riders. But us? We argue over how awesome it is to ride brakeless (or not) and how great risers are (no, only untaped track drops!), and how mad our skidz are vs. just using back-pressure and/or a brake. We must unite and collectively hate on some other genre of cycling.

You think that people would learn... you mesed with us once and we burned down your white house, messed with again and we sent you Celine Dion, and when that didn't work we created the Bieber and unleashed him on the world.

You dont have to act like you dont know what a "hipster" is to hide the fact that you are one!
