Never been to NY but I know there is one at/near the venue for the US Open tennis tournament in Queens which is where I assume this was taken...

My '07 SE Lager/Fuji Track toward the end of our first century it was a tad hilly for this bike, but a fun time nonetheless. This is the road google maps led us to.

My younger brother picked up this the other day for $150. It's a Raleigh Technium frame, the main frames are aluminum and the fork and stays are steel. It's a pretty light bike (as far as old conversions go), weighing in at around 21lbs. I've never heard of a frame with alu tubes and steel stays, and my instincts say it isn't the best way to make a frame, but what do I know. The cranks are pretty long at 175 and the pedals and straps desperately need replacing, but everything else seems to be in pretty good shape.

Got the rack installed using some homemade ugly straps:
As long as I don't try to carry anything too heavy (and I don't intend to as this is as much fashion accessory as functional equipment), this should hold up fine.
A ride to the park this weekend, with a waist pack strapped around the supports:
And everything clears the QR so removing the wheel is no problem, only the front rests on the rack ends instead of the dropouts - that may not be a bad thing:

Since this seems to be a topic of conversation, I'm about 6' 1". My legs and arms are quite long, though-- I've been told both belong on someone about six-six or so. I've actually moved the saddle up a bit from where it is in the pics, it was a bit low. The frame is a 63. The stem is a 130. The bike is quite comfortable.
