Yepper. First time ever. It's the stock setup on the 2011 Wabi Lightning, which is also fixed as the standard setup with a front brake and cross lever. The top tube is so short that I get the proper reach on the horns with a normal 90mm stem. It feels about the same as riding between the hoods and drops on my other bikes, which is quite comfortable. I haven't had a chance to check it out climbing out of the saddle, as I'm still recovering from hernia surgery. Gearing is 45 x 15, which is about the same as 46 x 17 with 700c wheels. I've got some Conti Grand Prix 4000s on order to replace the low end Kendas that are stock. Can't wait to put some serious miles on it.

How do you like those Novatec wheels? I'm thinking of getting some instead of B43s.

Bob's site is very very reputable, but it has funky shipping time because he's shipping out of Taiwan.

Those Novatec wheels are the same as the the deal that Scrod has, KinLin XRP-300 to Novatec.

I think the guy that runs it is a regular in the road or road racing forum. Not sure though.

Indeed he is, prolific poster too. I find his posts often informative.

He goes by his full name, Bob Doplina, on here.

Novatec Force:

The wheels would be heavier if they were Deep Vs.

I love my Novatec Force wheelset. The wheels are light, strong, and look good. I noticed a substantial difference while riding when I dropped the weight from Weinmann DP18s/Formulas to the Novatec set, which was my primary goal in getting them.

I'm about to build a CX race wheel set with the novatec hubs. It's nuts that I can build a geared 1400g wheel set for about $300.

Too bad track hubs are so heavy.

But the Novatec Force wheelset isn't bad at 1741g for a pair, either. I think I'll be able to build my IRO wheelset at a slightly heavier weight with double butted spokes for less than $150 thanks to that IRO wheelgoods deal.

They were out of stock as of 1 month ago and it didn't sounds like they'd be getting any more in.

There's a reason the teeth on that chainring are so badly worn - because you were using a chain that was way beyond stretched.

Also - what's with the missing chainring bolts?

no sold just the frame/fork+headset. flying with a frame was not really worth it, it's so expensive. kept the cranks, hubs, seat and post and tossed everything else but the chainring and cog which i kept a souvenir,
