In an attempt to make you even more anxious I'm 6'1 as well with a 34" inseam and I purchased the 55 and I'm very happy with the size. I feel comfortable on it and going with what chengiz said I would much rather my frame be a little too small than a little too big. And personally I just love the look of the 53 (my favorite) and 55s.
here's a newish one. I cut the steerer tube last week and I put some profile design risers and oury grips on last night.
with the 28 up front the brake is now useless.
scrodcog and scrodring coming soon!

they still have the urban elites for $22 which is what I purchased per scrods suggestion. They're a little heavy but I would fight dinosaurs with these tires. 28s are in stock, 25s are getting close but still available if that's what "may go to backorder" means

And thanks! I wasn't expecting my almost completely stock bike to get compliments.

Hey Guys! Been looking at the site since I got my kilo tt stripper last month! I think i read all the pages in this new thread and half from the old one lol
I just have a few things I need help on,
my wrists hurt and get tired from time to time. my cousin told me to get a longer stem. taking this advice, what kind of stem should I get (i have stock right now). i think i only need a minor adjustment. Links would be greatly appreciated!
Also, any suggestions on a color scheme with the gold stripper? i was thinking purple (laker fan) or white..
Thanks!
btw, I love this bike!!!

Not sure if I want to stay with the white tires. What are your guys' thoughts? I also don't like the red chain, I'm thinking gold to match the spoke nipples?

looks good to me! Before I even read your post I was thinking that's one of the few bikes I've seen that looks good with white tires.
Is that the profile design bottle holder? I've been looking for a holder like that and the profile design one is the only one I can find. As far as the chain goes I couldn't even tell it was red but yeah I bet it sucks heh. I'm not one for "colored" chains.

If you decide to go with a gold chain, it does end up turning a greyish color after a while, I may just need to clean it to go back, but currently you can't even tell mine was gold.

I gotta take some. These were just taken because I was messing with my buddy's D700. I am jealous.
P.S. I'm jealous of your CAAD10 It's the next road bike I want to get after wrecking my Scott.
Thanks! I think the white tires may be growing on me.
Yes, i tis the profile design bottle holder. The chain is dirty as hell, haven't had a chance to really clean it since I've had the bike.
I kind of just want a black chain to keep the black/white theme going. Hahaha

Do Kilo TT's usually have bad toe overlap? I bought one off craigslist yesterday for dirt cheap because my friend got his stolen. I test rode it and noticed ALOT of toe overlap, is this a problem?

Painfully average.
Not bad at all. Even when I'm riding slow as hell it doesn't bother me. Just have to expect it and you won't fall. lol

agreed. a buddy of mine was complaining about how toe overlap annoys him. My TT is running on a straight fork and the toe overlap is stupid bad but like Calv and yummy say, its not a big deal once you get a feel for it

Hey everyone, apologies for the newbie question here, but I'm looking to get the 2010 Mercier Kilo TT as my first "adult bike", and was looking at the "sale" on BD, which has front and rear brakes included. Does anyone have information (or, even better, pictures), of the brakes, specifically their location in relation to the bars? I'm not used to riding with drop bars, so I'm just curious as to what I can expect. None of the pics on the site seem to have brakes included. Thanks!

Perfect, that's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
EDIT: super excited that my gf and I just ordered matching Kilo's. Hers is the 47cm in Grape Soda Purple, mine will be the 55cm black, both 2010 models with front and rear brakes. Probably going to both be going freewheel with occasional trips to the fixie side of things.
Also thinking that we'll each take them to our LBS for assembly, both to start building a relationship, and also to make sure that everything starts off on the right foot. I definitely don't feel confident enough in my skills to do it at home myself. Likely to be spending more time in here lurking as I go down the rabbit hole of upgrade-itis.

My Kilo TT arrived today and I've put it together and it's pretty much ok to ride. A friend came over who knew a little about bikes and he said I have to get it lubricated at certain places.
Anything else I should think about doing to my bike right now? He also thought it should be fine for now and was alright for the price but if anything, I should upgrade the tires.
I will ride stock everything now, and I know the bike probably needs some lubing.
As for the brakes, the brake tubes (if that's the right word?) is way too long right now. Is shortening it simply cutting it? I realize they have little metal parts at the end and I was wondering if that was important for anything.
