Pickdd up a kilo that had never been rode for 200 last weekend. Hate the hell out of the chrome though, anyone ever strip one? Not sure if it's gonna be too much of a hassle or not.

1. good gravy, "dat reach" to the horns.
2. chrome ain't paint, it's metallically bonded to the frame, so your luck with aircraft paint stripper, etc may vary. leave it alone and just enjoy it would be my recommendation.

Paint it, leave the rear stays and the front fork chrome.

Reach isn't so bad, that picture was taken right as I finished building it so nothing was dialed in, It's a 53 and I'm 5'10~

i think maybe the front wheel was flopped over "away from camera" a bit so it looked like the bar did not to a straight drop to the horns, but instead was a forward-slope to the horn/saddle section of the bars.

My lights run off a battery pack I keep in the saddle bag, so it holds it down and hides it better then some type of clamp.

Everything is still stock. I ride for fun so until the parts start to fail on me I won't replace them yet.

Agreed. chrome stays and fork are sexy, i especially like the look of the single chrome stay on the drive side.

Thats the 47 and theyre stocked up with all the sizes now! It's a beauty in person. Can't beat the extra $50 for better parts either.

so the ungodly long stock stem has to go, I bought a shorter 90mm 1-1/8" dimension threadless. I thought I bought the right size shim for it, but it turns out Its too big etc. what size shim should I get?

go ahead and flame, I was never into math

First day assembled. I got it for $250 from BikeIsland(missing fork and crown race, hence the Nashbar Carbon). Will be going clipless in a few days.

If that's a B-17 you should look into getting a new saddle. That's way too much drop. Other than that, awesome.

Yes, it's a B-17 I've had about four years now. At 6'8", my ape-ish arms keep me at a pretty reasonable angle. I've never ridden with this much drop before, but if it becomes a problem, I might switch to something else. Do the Velo Orange leather saddles have the same problems? (Specifically the model 6)
