Where to buy hubs?
 

Looking to buy an inexpensive, 120mm or 130mm rear, 36h, flip/flop hub, nothing special, cartridge bearings would be nice but not necessary. So who's got'em? Or if more cost friendly, a complete wheel.

iro has em pretty cheap but you can get a wheel set for less than it is to buy hubs rims and spokes

cycling closeouts sells wheel sets pretty cheap as do wabi and other vendors like iro

wabi is the best of the inexpensive wheels right now at 150 a set plus shipping
or 85 for a rear

I think those Wabi wheels are fantastic and would love to get my hands on a set of those. Only $150 and you get double butted spokes, better than straight gauge you get from VeloMine.

Grab some IRO hubs if you're just looking for hubs.

IRO does not make 36H hubs, I'd like to try and use my current rims and spokes.

What hubs are you currently using? You might not be able to use the same spokes.

IRO's bargain basement used to have lots for 36h for $40 a set but they're all gone now. Grab a set of Formulas from eBay or something.

you never want to reuse spokes that is just a bad idea and you are asking for headaches and maybe more

just get a new wheelset and call it done it would be a good investment in the long run

If i recall IRO = Formula, and Formula makes 36h hubs.

I have a SA 5speed IGH. Looking at a formula TH-32 now.

The old IRO hubs are Formulas, not the current ones. I'm not sure we ever found out if the new IRO hubs are a rebrand of something else or...?

Beware of the TH-32, they have terrible bearing seals and their threads are not machined as well as TH-52 or TH-51.

Can anyone confirm if the stock hubs on the Motobecane Track are Formula TH32s? I don't have them in front of me right now, but I believe they look exactly like the ones pictured in the top photo here:

If they are the same hubs, I will have to agree that the bearing seals are not so hot and the hubs don't spin very smoothly. Here are some pictures from the BD website:

Formula hubs are the best buy out there... not the cheapest but pretty solid for the money.

Why would you want to change out a perfectly good SA 5 speed for anyways ?

Those are TH-31, 31 means fixed/free and 32 is fixed/fixed; like wise for 52 and 51 but they are the sealed version.
