I disagree. I have these grip kings because they looked promising, but my feet tilt outward due to lack of side support. An excellent platform pedal that I now use on 3 bikes are Nashbar cruisers:

To be specific, for comparison purposes, the black platform area is 4" wide (the issue of interest for the OP), and 4.5" long.
