Today I found out on Tree Fort Bikes that their Tektro R530 caliper set that I ordered were "Item is discontinued and is no longer available" when they told me it was on backorder a few weeks ago.

I hate the internet.

Sounds about right to me too. Although I am in central Michigan. Woke up to a little more snow on the ground, a very windy, sleety mix falling as I type this.

So today I cleaned out my closet i use for storage, found some extra bike parts, worked on one of three group porjects I have for finals, and will soon eat some food. All while not being on my bike :-(

Today I spent half the day surfing the internet including Bikeforums.

Today I opened to door to head out to the bus stop and faced a surreal sight: hail the size of 10 cent coins was blanketing my back yard and rattling off the roof. Felt as if I was in a Tim Burton movie. Got on the bus and two streets east, the ground was dry with no moisture.

streetdude 04-19-11 03:59 PM

I, unfortunately, also looked at the weather today.

I guess you folks in the far north have it worse...but still, this sucks.

I don't know why, but that made me choke on my water.

jdgesus 04-19-11 05:01 PM

PeDDeR27 04-19-11 05:04 PM

Today I had to pass the same guy three times on the ride home because despite the fact that I was clearly faster than him, he shoaled way out into the intersection every time we hit a red light. It's not an affront to your manhood that a girl passed you, dude. And if it is, giving me the opportunity to pass you THREE TIMES isn't very smart, now is it?

Haha, speak for yourself! :P

Despite yesterdays amazing weather, and mood, today the weather isn't storming, but it's not great by a stretch. It really varies up here. And I am feeling really strangely sick and I don't know why. I'm having someone pick me up some agua, and laying in bed on here, hoping I break out of this sicklyness soon.

Today a clogged drain turned into me learning out to do plumbing, at least I have sparkly new drain pipes now.

Sebster 04-19-11 07:36 PM

Today I switched out a 15t cog to 18t with a 42t chainring, had so much more fun spinning - might have been the first day of sun in a month and a half, but had so much energy "accidentally" hit 33 on small downhill

realized biking is seriously the best thing known to man with my hair all flying back and a huge smile on my face

ugh, I effing hate to play leap frog with people. Just tell them they aren't getting anywhere any faster and drop them.

Dannihilator 04-19-11 08:26 PM

Today I got in a good ride in the rain.

yummygooey 04-19-11 08:44 PM

Today I got picked up from office hours because it was extremely windy and rainy and there was a tornado watch.

dansjustchillin 04-19-11 09:10 PM

Today I worked until a little after 5. Found a couple old shimano books containing the BB info I needed. Bought a BB. Came home and swapped some cranks on my road bike and watched the Giants game. Now i'm going out for chili cheese dogs.

EpicSchwinn 04-19-11 10:24 PM

I heard an ugly noise coming from my pedals which had been mildly squeaking earlier. I took them apart for a good overhaul and found that a bearing had cracked in half! I'm glad I caught that before anything seized up. A frozen pedal with clips could be a little dangerous :O

Said bearing:

Ugh, have to write a paper.

Reminds me of my first fixed experience. Suddenly cycling wasn't 'work' but really really fun.

EDIT: sorry for the dupe

guitarmankyle 04-20-11 12:58 AM

I honestly want to try 46 x 19 for the same reason, but I'd barely be able to control myself downhill (10-18% grade) and I try to make limited use of my brake.

What the hell, I'll do it tomorrow.

hairnet 04-20-11 03:46 AM

FML after making the gear change I noticed my rear wheel was under tensioned. The things a wheel build will teach you :-/

So I just spent that last two hours (yes, it is now 2:45am) tensioning and truing my wheel with just a brake caliper to guide me

yummygooey 04-20-11 08:36 AM

I have 44x19 waiting for me on my Motobecane Track. Maybe some ridiculous bars I find at the co-op, too...

Edge_Walker 04-20-11 09:55 AM

Cleaned my Madone 5.5 and my Dawes SST-AL.... Oh yeah, also, it's 4/20!
