I could blow $132 soooo fast right now.

yummygooey 06-30-11 07:05 PM

Today I finally got my act together and went out for a ride. 3 miles in I flatted my front tire.

Note to all: Vittoria Diamante Pro Lites are great tires, but they're absolutely horrible on the street.

LocoTracks 06-30-11 07:38 PM

Yesterday I watched some fool try to do some strange looking whip to the side skid stop over and over again in traffic...and almost fell over ever time he tried it. Looked like an idiot. Then he suddenly turned up a crosswalk at a red light and almost got hit by a right turning driver...

Today I rode to the beach and back, picked up my track bike from the shop with puurrrty new handlebar wrap. Then had a pint and $5 spaghetti from Brouwers.

jdgesus 06-30-11 09:48 PM

today i broke a spoke on a 16 spoke wheelset... i was too scared to ride it home, was four miles away, and with spd-sl cleats.
made it home, swapped bikes, continued my day of riding....

oh and ate some really spicy teriyaki for lunch

Really? I have only flatted them once and that was in a "crash". What PSI do you run? I only run mine on the front now because I decided it was way too expensive a tire to skid through but they still ride very nicely.

One time I found like $250 in front of my dorm, but I ended up finding the person who lost it and returned it.

I found $240 in wadded up bills outside a Casino in New Orleans when I was like 13. It's a great feeling.

And damn $240 was a LOT of cash when I was 13.

Today I sold my 2009 GF HooKoo. I am sad to see it go, but it takes the sting out of the Paragon I just bought.

nicwuj 06-30-11 11:16 PM

Today I rode around 20 miles with a friend, ended up at the local fireworks, and then a going away party for an exchange student. Overall, I had a blast.

cc700 06-30-11 11:32 PM

eleven mile commute home after being driven to whirley ball for some after work fun. had a blast and DAMN do i love long commutes.

also found out: 44/19 is great if you don't have anywhere to be. it's too low if you like going fast though.

Today I:

Had the day off from work, so I

1. Slept in

2. Caught up on some paperwork

3. Rode the 3-speed (S3X) to the post office. Stopped to take a pic at the town sign
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...-speed_076.jpg

then picked up the package I was waiting for
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../Lotus_027.jpg

4. Went for a 44 mile ride on the Serotta with its new chain (sweet smoothness), rear wheel, and seatpost (was 20+mm in the danger zone on the old short post). Nice day for a ride in the park
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...tta_C2_121.jpg

and quiet shade, stopping for a snack
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...tta_C2_122.jpg

5. Shower, then nap

6. Grocery shopping

7. Post-ride recovery treats
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...tta_C2_123.jpg

Today was a very good day :) .

hairnet 07-01-11 05:35 PM

I helped a guy work on his P10 3 speed fixed gear. Now I want one

cc700 07-01-11 05:39 PM

so hungry now.

commuted on the ftp with risers. lulz were had.

streetdude 07-01-11 05:47 PM

That Serotta is so sexual.

Today I got outbid on, like, the third Thomson seatpost I've tried to buy. All of the auctions have ended while I've been at work, and all have been sniped at the last second. I need to just devote all of my time/life to ebay.

63_dorinte 07-01-11 05:57 PM

I had looked at Thomson, but something about the clamp just didn't feel right. I went for a Nitto 65 instead.

Some dude complimented me on my track stand while i was waiting to turn left on this busy street.

Wtf? I DOn;t wa t0 sup d00ds!! Where the chicks be at?

streetdude 07-01-11 07:09 PM

Today I bought a Thomson seatpost :D

Squirrelli 07-01-11 07:25 PM

Elite or Masterpiece? Silver or black? Used or new? Cheap or not cheap? Set back or non set back?

Details, bro, details!

streetdude 07-01-11 07:37 PM

Elite, black, used, cheap enough, no setback. I feel a little guilty because this was a totally aesthetic purchase, but I just needed a bit of bling factor, na meen?

RenzSouljohnson 07-01-11 10:46 PM

today i ate **** for the first time, trying to beat my lap time around the lake

turned a corner too sharply and my pedal scraped against the floor. I was going way too fast so i flew off my bike. Lucky for me I landed gracefully and let myself roll a few times. Got kinda scraped up but it was all good.

Bunch of people were around kind of confused, and all i wanted to do was get back up and keep going because i knew i was making good time LOL. some guy walking his dog asked if i was ok, i couldnt hear him because my headphones were still on but i flashed him a thumbs up and we both had a good laugh before i bolted away...

ended up beating my time by a few seconds, but I wish I hadn't taken the spill haha

Hothead286 07-02-11 11:29 AM

Today I bought a Rolf Vector Comp rim for $20. Anyone suggest an 18 hole hub?

Sherblock 07-02-11 03:32 PM

Last time that happened to me I got this weird road rash. It was all along my elbow... but the sweatshirt I was wearing didn't have a rip o.0

The two people on a swing set just kinda stared at me, so I just shouted out "I'm fine" and rode away.

63_dorinte 07-02-11 03:39 PM

Today I:

1. Headed South on the Scrambler through
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ambler_036.jpg

Rode until I had used half my water, then turned around. Total 35 miles in 2 hours 40 minutes, slower-paced than yesterday but I was just out cruising and looking at the scenery. Even rode up all of the hills!

2. When I got home, the last parts for my townie project (for the initial build at least) were on the front porch, so I finished assembling that and took a few pictures. Test ride and (hopefully) cruising around town planned for tomorrow.

3. TBD

xavier853 07-02-11 04:20 PM

I had a clicking in my drivechain. So I took everything apart. Cleaned it up, and put it back together. Now the clicking is gone

I still don't know what was making the click.

VincentLe 07-02-11 04:28 PM

Today I: continued trying to true my wheel. It is still not perfect and this is sad. ]:

soyboy 07-02-11 04:46 PM

today i'm making split pea soup with homemade croutons made from earlier in the weeks failed beer bread experiment.

I did the same once too, but it was only $10. And I did the same "look around / linger / make sure someone wasn't catching me lift their $". I felt so guilty taking it even though there was nobody there to claim it that I expected one of those fox investigates local news tory type vans to approach me in the parking lot.

$132 though.. jesus ****. That's why I don't carry cash

ImChris 07-02-11 05:42 PM

^ That looks like a lot of fun :)

I got a Pace hat today, after using one on a couple rides I decided I needed my own.

LocoTracks 07-02-11 07:03 PM

Took the intro to track class at Marymoor. And decided I'm gonna do Thursday night racing and tell my legs to deal with it during the STP saturday.

hairnet 07-02-11 07:33 PM

I removed a crankset with an angle grinder :)
