The ****? you have no hair on your legs to begin with...

Also this thread got less interesting as soon as it became a giant chat window for LessonLearned, Jimmy and kaz.

This thread, if you follow it regularly, will become a "chat window" from time to time. This phenomenon is known as others showing interest in your thoughts/feelings/ideas/news. It can lead to back and forth banter until it fizzles out. Sorry for interupting your regularly scheduled broadcast? :p

...took my only saddle (sold the other three and shipped them out Friday) off the 722 and put it back on the Kagero for my short, daily ride to work. I'll be riding faster (than usual) home, in hopes of finding some of the new components I ordered in the mail! :speedy:

Jens made a killer breakaway right near the end, it actually looked like he was going to take the stage for a second.

Seeing who posted that; apparently "interesting" is qualified by anything to do with Rapha, poorly composed ground ride pictures run through instagram, or general talk about being a roadie.

I like this guy.

What is a "ground ride", though? Honest question.

edit: in keeping with my reputation:

This weekend I (with some roadie friends): climbed Mt. San Bruno in the worst headwind I have ever ridden in. 20+mph sustained with 30mph gusts according to the USGS wind pattern data. With the ratio I was running (49x18) I can usually maintain 13-15mph, but in this wind it was more like 5-8mph while fighting to not get blown all over the road.

Here is a picture I took and posted to Instagram (I thought it was quite pretty), there is no filter on it, but the composition is so-so. Excuse me for not being a better photographer, with my phone, while on a bike ride.

p.s. I was wearing Rapha arm warmers.

That's sort of what I thought when I read it, too: "As opposed to... sky riding?" but I have a feeling Zoltani might be a bit closer to what he meant? In which case I have taken exactly one of those sorts of pictures. Probably wont do it again - way awkward and 9/10 times it comes out like crap.

This thread is more interesting than seeing the fifteen threads a day that lesson learned makes like "OMG I'm the slowest biek ridar evar, what bike components do you guys like cause I'll buy them and fit in. I also won't do a fit before purchasing items because I'm short sighted and want a sw8 fixAy now"

Agreed. That's sort of what I was trying to get at with my original post.

So, the Pacific Northwest and Bay Area contingencies can have full conversations here about tacos, but the three people from Chicago can't talk bikes?

Anyhow, moving moving moving. New apartment is rad. May be going to get filmed tonight. LL, I'll be sure to just let you know right here in this thread for everyone to see.

RGNY 07-23-12 04:28 PM

got a double commute in today.

packed a purple polo shirt for work, unfortunately it was my wife's. :/ so i flogged the bike home to grab a shirt. really sweaty by the time i got back, but my boss didn't make me charge my time for the 40min it took, based on the comic relief.

so while i rode the Ridley SSCX on the first run, decided to trade for the Pake Rumrunner SS for the second trip. yay, all the bikes!

Spoonrobot 07-23-12 04:30 PM

Today I made a typo trying to make fun of someone else. Lost all my internet points. :(

Then I patched four tubes and while inspecting my bike found out my front rim is down to <1.0mm thickness on one side. So now I'm shopping for a new rim or a new wheel.

avg speed talk? take it to the 41 pls.

speed doesn't mean a whole lot without W, kg and/or cda metrics to put it into context.

LesterOfPuppets 07-23-12 05:05 PM

i'm hitting a taco truck in 25 minutes.

dos de lengua y dos de pastor.

You forgot to add: trollface.jpg

In case you are actually serious the context of speed was in the explanation. Normally up that segment: 13-15mph. With insane headwind, barely half that speed. W/kg and cda(?) are irrelevant. Either that or I am a bad roadie.

I went to the track for the second of 3 beginner sessions (before I can start racing) this past weekend. Good instructor, new efforts, but only like half the on-track time as the last session. :/

Kirins are super fun but I think I still like the f200m better.
