I know, right? The heel is a little weird but the shoes are pretty comfortable.

Wabi sells them >>> http://www.wabicycles.com/exustar_spd_shoes.html I saw them when I bought my Lightning. How are they for walking ? Do they have decent traction ? I'm pretty happy with my Shimano SPD shoes and Keen Sandals, so I'm just curious.

Today I: Dropped a friend riding a geared bike (mtn bike) on the flats. Felt pretty darn good since I was recently diagnosed with MS and have been having some issues with hand and foot numbness.

I don't mean to sound disingenuous but I just kinda gave up hope in my body and riding my new singlespeed has given me some confidence back.

They're not too bad for walking and the rubber sole is really hard but has decent traction. I find them to be a little narrow but I've got wide feet anyway so that's to be expected.

Wow those are ugly.

BUT, in my experience, Exustar makes a good product for a good price.

Scrodzilla 07-20-11 07:24 AM

I don't think they're too bad looking, actually. They make me feel snazzy.

Today i'm packing up my bike for my trip to Germany.Using a Travel Case is so much easier than boxing it up.

What pedals are you considering? I would get Time ATACS or SPD's.

Angie's got a set of Shimano A600s sitting around so I'm just going to try those out.

Very nice!

Today I had my followup visit with the surgeon that repaired my double hernia and I'm now officially allowed to lift / strain more than 10 pounds. Celebrated by opening my garage door for the first time in six weeks and taking down some of my bikes off the ceiling hooks. Looking forward to putting my new Wabi Lightning through its paces. :D

calv 07-20-11 11:10 AM

Good for you, man!

I mean, sir. lol

xkillemallx16 07-20-11 12:21 PM

the via condotti is pretty classy for a complete bike.

misskaz 07-20-11 12:31 PM

Today I have dinner plans that require not arriving covered in sweat and bike grease, so I did not ride to work.

That it is currently 97 degrees and may reach 100 (106 to 114 heat index) today makes me not all that disappointed about having to skip the bike commute.

Leukybear 07-20-11 01:34 PM

Today I went out for my first long ride with my new brooks swallow on my roadie; major soreness but I feel there's some improvement. Or is that just the numbness? =/

I have to agree; over the bianchi pista moniker, I think it's gorgeous too for a casual bike. It's pretty obvious nonetheless how my wife who's very fashion conscious to pick it out of the numerous bikes we saw yesterday. The only negative I have to point out is how I absolutely LOATH the unicrown fork, makes me want to throw up considering how IMO it tarnishes the entire bike.

My wife doesn't seem to mind that and we plan to drop the deposit for her size later today.
She already has some modifications that she hopes to do gradually with it but as a attentive husband, you happen to know these things already and plan to make pick up day that much sweeter. Stock parts FTL. :)

~~~~Oh yeah, I totally forgot to mention to you guys that she wants to ride not SS but fixed. :love:
Today I am sitting in my office, absolutely pink with delight over the fact that I don't have to wake up at butt****'o clock to get to my classes.
Also silently laughing at myself over plowing into a parked car while focusing on my straps and ****ing up one of the flanges of my star nut.
OH, ME
****. Snakes.
Took a road trip down to Arizona last year and seriously ran afoul of like 3-4 rattlesnakes while hiking Bear Canyon. First one was sunning itself on an outcropping that ran along the trail at like, shoulder height. I heard the rattle right in my ear and it startled me, but seeing that mother****ing snake less than a foot from my face had me BOLTING.
I hate snakes.
xkillemallx16 07-20-11 07:03 PM
my dad was bit by a snake when he was younger, apparently almost died. wont go near any sort of snake, no matter how well caged or how harmless it is.
RenzSouljohnson 07-20-11 09:18 PM
bought a plain cycling cap, new gloves and proofide today. Biked the city pretty hard.. yep.
jdgesus 07-20-11 09:22 PM
