...just found out accidentally that one of my coworkers (doesn't do ****, sleeps at his cubicle, total jerkoff waste of space) makes $9k/year more than me (been doing two people's jobs since December, lost vacation time because of it, put in 9-12 hour days every day, takes no breaks, etc) and quite frankly I'm a little pissed off about it.

Looking for a new job in 1...2...3...

Ugh, I'm pissed. Time to buy some bike parts to relieve the pain.

Kill him and wear his skin.

how long have you been working there? how long has he been working there?

TMonk 03-22-13 02:01 PM

just bought this on fleabay:

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8522/8...ceedd23e_z.jpg

to replace:

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7054/6...41d5d3f1_z.jpg

everything but frameset (obv), crankset/bb (bb30 to regular threaded) and seatpost (diff size) are switching right over. I stripped down the cables, housing and chain to replace it and thought to myself: do I really wanna build this thing up again?

I have no faith in this full carbon bb30 shell. Mine squeaks when I really lay it down and 2 of my 6 teammates last year developed cracks in the bb shell, but theyre much bigger than me. Im stoked to soon be back on a race bike that I know will handle better (ive owned one b4), will likely be stiffer and that I can feel more confident in.

Next up, dura ace 7800 cranks.

The great part about it is that if I am patient, I should be able to do better than break even when I sell my frameset and sram red bb30 cranks

calv 03-22-13 02:03 PM

Sweet. I want a road bike... So expensives tho.

TMonk 03-22-13 02:15 PM

ya they are.

ive been through many road bikes and only now that im a graduate and a salary man can afford nice stuff.

wayyy overpriced

Good point, he's been here a number of years longer, however, he's almost been fired 3 times since I've been here - just that our company is very forgiving. It's just frustrating knowing how much work there is to do and you walk by his cube and he's dozing at his desk...and now to know he's making more than me, argh!

TMonk 03-22-13 02:53 PM

just as important, how long have you been there? im gonna guess less than a couple years.

make sure your hard work is recognized and it will pay off, if not literally in the form of bonus/salary adjustment, from credibility in the work place, networking and recommendations when it comes time for your next position.

zoltani 03-22-13 03:14 PM

today i saw this (some NSFW language)

at 1:09 he was literally trying to puke on that dude.

We rank everyone into 4 categories at our company - good, better, best, VIP. I'm currently ranked as "best" on the verge of being VIP. To be a VIP you have to work well with all sections of the business, go the extra mile, be a team player, blah blah blah...I was told that if I have a good year, I'll be VIP next year. VIP comes with a substantial pay raise and the biggest bonus payout the company offers.

I'm on the right path and I've only been here 3 years. Next year should be a really good year for me and to be honest, I'm very fortunate - I have no loans, I have a nice bank roll, I want for nothing. I just through a fit when I saw his check stub and how much more he made than I.

I would have done the same, no doubt.

I hear that. I work at a place where people all get paid the same, but the quality of work is night and day. And people just don't get fired here because of possible lawsuits and our boss is too nice. Hell, there isn't even an interview process to begin with. If I had the authority, I would axe at least 5 people today.

It definitely messes with your motivation and all that, but at the same time, real recognize real, and when opportunities come up, it's usually the people who are hustling who capitalize.

Today I thought of something really clever and found out that I'd been beaten to the punch.

Now has the lever back on it but tightened so it won't move.

Today I went to Chuck E Cheese's for the first time with a bunch of kids from my daycare job. Was pretty fun, LOTS of hot moms there.

Today UCLA admissions came out, and even though I didn't apply, I wish I had listened to my friends, and tried harder in school. I didn't get into any of the UC's, and I'm kinda regretting dicking around so much in high school.

If you considered yourself dicking around in highschool, I must have been the laziest sob ever.

Muffin Man 03-22-13 08:43 PM

Well I know I'm somewhat intelligent, and stuff like math and science come relatively easy to me, but I never do homework and don't really study for tests unless I absolutely have to, so my grades are terrible. Relative to people I go to school with.

Ah, the trademark slacker..

I was a horrible student. I had to take the CHSPE to graduate because I couldn't deal with high school. Hated that ****. I would wake up at like 11pm and go to school at lunch time sometimes. Look at me now though.. Got into UC Davis.

I seriously thought something was wrong with whoever admitted me in this university.

Definitely the hormones, buddy. Nothing wrong with that though. Might want to wait a year before you make a move.

Serious?! Hahaha I took the CHSPE and just ended up never going to college. What did they base your entrance on?

don't worry this year is honestly a really tough year for uc's it seems. i barely applied to any of em, including UCLA, but i got rejected by UCLA and might have to end up going to UCSC. i didn't start being a tryhard till junior and senior year when i realized that i was kinda screwed when it came to getting into a good school. i am probably the laziest and most procrastinating person you will ever meet. the only way i was able to pull off a 4.1 overall gpa was because i'd finally manage to get myself to do my homework at 11pm or midnight. all i really have going for me is the fact i've done track and xc for 3 years, above 4.0 gpa and a minority/first person to go to a uni in my family. other than that i really don't stack up compared to the average tryhard at my school who has roughly a 4.3 gpa and over 2000 on the SAT compared to my high 1700

experiencing full blown senioritis

Dannihilator 03-22-13 09:33 PM

Many moons ago, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, which was around the time I went to highschool. I busted my rear off the first 3 years, got good grades and at the end of the year was only 10 credits from graduating. So, Senior year the 1st half I had a busy schedule and got accepted to my 1st choice(knew before the end of the 1st half of the year.) Second half of the year, had all of 3 classes a day and had alot of down time.

Nagrom_ 03-22-13 09:34 PM

Let me put it this way, I'm only in college cause of SAT scores.

Mother ****ing boxing. lulz

Community College helped some. As long as I followed the program that my CC had I had a pretty good chance at being admitted if my GPA was high enough.
