Hah, it's not that I lack hills. I'm about a mile away from a some great climbing.

But a mile in the other direction and I'm on a wonderfully flat coastline. And that's my problem, haha.

I'm sure if there were real climbs around me, I would end up trying to find the flattest routes possible. Thats how it works, right?

I'm climbing tomorrow though. ugh.

bro 04-25-13 11:32 PM

today i did like two frontflips...

...just got done installing front brake haha

3 weeks into fixed gear riding... brakeless with a sort of aggressive posture on 74 gear inches, and i finally ate ****. just goofing off in my neighborhood trying to see how fast i could go and how fast i could stop safely, found out the answer was no. pretty much if im riding brakeless around here with all the intersections i'd have to go slow which isnt really fun. i plan on ordering front+back brakes as soon as i have the money. for the record later today aaafter eating **** i was riding with my friend and skid-stopped at a light within a couple feet going pretty fast. it was sw8. but its not a super safe or reliable way of stopping for me with my setup... and because i have skateboarder knees and 32c tires i have to lean hella forward and stuff... yeah

def getting brakes/brake for my conversion. if i had a track bike id probably go braekless and just run skinny tires and run like 65 gi, and have a frame that actually fits me haha, my ron kit is a 49cm and i probably need like a 53? but rons top tube is like 56 which is cool. and we have hella bumpy screets so 32c tires are pretty much a must. ill probably build an njs frame up next year.

oh ripped a big hole in my radical leather/crochet colombian 70s cycling gloves.... :(

they still work for riding though, the left one is just pretty destroyed lookin

also this

I turned 26 and got invited to a pre-screening for a new job...at the same time. </fate>

TMonk 04-26-13 07:49 AM

get the job and turn 26 next year... there's always next year

Went on a field trip to a park with my 5 year old's school. Looked at some old bonsai trees, here is their oldest tree at 300 years old. On the way back I almost got hit as well, I think it's called being "hooked" (when a car turns left directly in front of you because they are turning down a street)?

Broke a spoke this morning on the commute to work. I'll be glad to get my other rim back on the bike this weekend. Cheap **** spokes on the rim I'm temporarily using, can't even take a little bit of stress on a minor climb.

Perfect example of when it's better then receiving: there are no new emails in your inbox folder

From our Secretary/HR person:

(insert CEOs name) brought in of beer for today's meeting that we would like to put in the refrigerator plus Vons is delivering Milk, half n half and Popsicles this morning, there seems to be a considerable amount of aged leftovers, if you could remove anything before 11:00am it would be most appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

OneGoodLeg 04-26-13 11:51 AM

Nice. I worked at a friend's company part-time for awhile breaking down old computers that he was selling for scrap and he used to provide beer.

Nothing lasts in the fridge at this job. I left a box with 2 pears, 2 apples, an orange, and a kiwi in the fridge last weekend and came back to find a box with 2 apples and an orange. Second time that's happened. My boss was more pissed about than I was, it's food, I wasn't going to lose sleep over it.

Nagrom_ 04-26-13 11:55 AM

I love soft boiled eggs.

misskaz 04-26-13 12:09 PM

They clear out our two fridges in their entirety once every couple weeks here. They send out a warning email and if you don't get your stuff out, too bad so sad it gets tossed.

The only thing I hate about it is some things like salad dressing or condiments don't need to be tossed every couple weeks but even that will get thrown out; so you can't just buy a bottle and leave it here.

seau grateau 04-26-13 12:23 PM

Fridge politics man why

SpeshulEd 04-26-13 12:48 PM

No need for a fridge here, the scotch and tequila lay down just fine in my desk drawer.

Plus I'm sure you'd get smacked by the booze police if you even tried to put scotch near a fridge.

Ha, yeah that'd be bad.

Our fridge at work is a disaster. It's where takeout leftovers go to die.

solipsist716 04-26-13 01:06 PM

Today I want a Soma Smoothie SS (Stainless Steel, not singlespeed, ha?) so bad.

Then I scrolled down and saw that Soma is only producing ~100 framesets. So much the sad.
