those are big miles man. that adds up to about 250mi/week, which for me would typically be accomplished in about 15hours of varied riding, give or take

those are the kinda miles I hit over the winter/preseason when im trying to build an aerobic base for road racing. during this time of the year im riding about 8-10hrs/week (as opposed to 15+), but nearly half of it is balls to the wall on the road or the track.

That's why I'm down, not as much time this year. Commuting is a good chunk of it and mixing in miles afterwards helps.

Today I went to the physio again only to find that my lower back is super tight which is also contributing to my knees hating life. So the original injury of being kicked in the ankle really badly at indoor soccer 6-7 months ago has resulted in a loss of leg muscles, lack of activity, which lead to tight quads, tight back and tendonitis in my patella tendon and quad tendon. Today I did a training session at the track. Almost puked. Then ate a bunch of tacos.

Good Thursday.

Spent the day at the coast with my wife and friends... and then met more friends from our neighbourhood in Portland when we stopped in Manzanita.

Was a glorious day.

I put up some Ebay auctions of the remaining of my shoe collection so that I can start saving up for my Leader 722 Heritage frame. I should have $500 in a couple of weeks. Eff it, it's time to hustle!

The good news is that all I really need to do is stretch for 5 minutes in the morning and at night and it should resolve itself after a month or so. It's just annoying because I can't really ride my bike a lot and i'm not allowed to work out my legs at the gym. So now i've got the same upper body as before and scrawny chicken legs (which were already pretty little). I look like one of those ******bags that never do anything but upper body at the gym.

On a brighter note I did go for a walk up a hill which was good exercise and was great for my knees. I'm feeling a bit better than this morning and I'm about to go to my mates place who just got home from being in Canada since last November today!

Today I bought a chain breaker, removed chain, then gave it a little Simple Green and water bottle treatment. Then washed the bike, reinstalled chain with master link, oiled chain, and aired up the tires. Ready for my ride tomorrow morning
