damn thats almost identical. Do those chain rings hold up well? I was never really a fan of origin 8 either... I wonder if it'll look stupid since the arms are pretty shiney, almost like chrome and thats a dullish silver. but thanks dude, i havent purchased anything yet so I'm looking for as many options as possible. On FSA's website about the crank it states they have different teeth combinations but I can't find any.
http://www.fullspeedahead.com/products/109/FGimondi Teeth combination: 46, 48 Or is that something different? I'll shoot FSA an email later today and ask them. |
From what people have said Origin 8 is decent. It means the cranks are available with either 46 or 48 teeth when you buy them (depending on weather the spot you're buying from stocks them)

Origin 8 is a crapshoot - some of their stuff is okay and some of it is complete garbage. I just happen to be aware of some of the inner workings of that company and am not a fan of how they conduct business, which is why I am biased.
I've never seen that chainring up close. |

going to have to say the crank arms and steel frame are going to be flexing much more than the crank axle, whether it's square taper or gxp. |

All the force from your crank arms is acting on that BB..that's where you're going to get the most flex. Do you really think a big Al crank arm is going to bend before the tiny little square that the crank attaches to does?

Dont want to start a new thread thats about this bike so I'll ask it here:
Could you guys recommend me a good headset and stem? I've never purchased a threadless setup. I was thinking about a chris king or the grand cru at Velo Orange. Does anyone have any experience with the ones at velo orange? I've read only good about chris king. Now with stems I have no idea. Thanks dudes. |
Grand Cru is good. I'm also a big fan of the Tange Techno Glide and FSA Orbit-X.
|
|
heard people were having a terrible time with the grand cru headsets, but maybe they've gotten better.
i just installed an ird technoglide, seens like a nice, well made headset. tange cartridge bearings are nice. |
Techno Glide is by far my fave.
|
Hmm, I might go with the techno glide, it's has better reviews and it's on the same site as the andels. I'll just pick out a stem and bars on that site aswell.
