Lo pro geometry means you're going to show less seatpost. Standover is really not that important, which is why you never see it mentioned. If you have long legs and arms, go with the large.

Alright, I absolutely had to resurrect this thread considering I've wanted one of these damn frames for a while and I finally got mine:

Some things I've noticed compared to my moto track:
-Toeverlap might as well be footverlap. It scared me at first, then I got used to it.
-Short wheelbase is short. You can feel it in the turns, the handling, and the sw8 fixay whip skids. Also, I can lock my both my rear wheel and seat tube through most things here in SF.
-It's stiff. I make fun of a lot of people about this one. Being 120 lbs, I rarely give a damn about stiffness. I don't know which part of the equation is different, but it comes off the line a lot faster.
-The BB is tall. I feel much 'taller' when in the saddle on this bike. Plus, you can lean a lot further into turns.

My only wish is that it wasn't threaded! Must get me an adapter :)

Beautiful, I actually like the quill stem.

i always thought that the classic steel bikes look much better with quill stems. i've seen a lot of affinity builds cruising around brooklyn and bushwick lately, and some of em are good, but others look like crosslake sales bikes. i just think that the quill stem (along with other factors, like clipless pedals) add to the pro-quotient at work here.

just have a 2 stems: one with bull horns, then the other with whatever you like. i got mine with horns and fuji compact drops. whenever i wanna switch it up i just swap stems.

To be honest, I tend to think the opposite.

I know threaded systems look nice, but the benefit is more aesthetic at this point than anything else. It's definitely not pro level, unless we're talking keirin racing.

It's growing on me. If I don't get an adapter it will be unfortunate to have to spend money on more stems that I will only ever use on this bike. I have a lot of threadless stems that could be used instead:)

Not to mention it would be nice to be able to change bars as frequently as I do. I've been missing that so far.

what size is that, redpear?

redpear 02-02-12 02:57 PM

Size S. I test rode a dual 650c XS, but it was too small. I'm pretty small, but this seems to fit perfectly. Effective TT is something like 51.5. Obviously they are not square by any means--the seattube is close to 54 c-t. Sizing is tricky. Go by the effective TT is my opinion.

Hey all,

Resurrecting an old thread, but I figure it's better to post my question in here rather than start another Affinity Lo-pro thread. Has anyone heard about what Affinity plans for their 2014 lineup? I am planning on grabbing a lo-pro soon, but if they are planning on rolling out new ones (maybe tweaking the geo, or color options, etc.) I would hold off. I was on the site, and they seemed to be clearing out their 2013 stock. So, I'm assuming they're making way for their new lineup to roll out this coming spring/summer.

Cheers
