Loose Cranks Question

Just installed the Grand Cru threadless BB in my 80's Puegeot fixie convert. The axel seems nice and tight and I don't notice anything untill I began trackstanding. When I shift my weight onto a pedal in the trackstand there is a very slight discrepancy in the motion. It seems like there is a split second where the crank has to first align itself before my force turns into motion. There is a clicking noise as if the axle was loose when I quickly shift my weight. This does not seem to be getting worse, doesn't even bother me, just wondering if this could damage my bike or if it a concern.. Thanks

Loose chain.

Could also be a loose crank arm, in which case it would probably be to late.

yeah that really sounds like just a loose chain. shouldnt be an issue.

perhaps your cog is slipping?

No you definitely have reason to worry. My FSA Energy 2008 cranks aren't really "one piece" on the crank arm. As in the arm isn't one piece with the spider, and it has a little play (not the bottom bracket, swapped it out - same problem, bolt tightened to correct torque)

No idea what the problem is
(to all you haters, the arm wiggles when the chain is off, its definitely "loose")

If your chain is popping, like it's skipping a link, tighten your chain.

I loosened my chain once, pressed on the peddle, and it would jolt forward. I tightened it, it stopped immediately.

Will Tighten chain. Nice to hear this isn't a problem with the bikes integrity!
