Noises coming from drivetrain.
 

Lately I've been getting these horrible noises coming somewhere from my chain/crank/bb/cog.

At first I thought it was my BB, but I had just replaced it with a new one and highly doubted it would it. I took of the chain span it, and put pressure on it to see if it would make the noise, and it did not.

Second I thought it was my pedals (since they were so old), so I replaced them. That wasn't it either.

Now that I checked both of those, I started to think that my chain line was making the chain rub up against the chainring or something, but my chain line is close to perfectly straight.

But tonight I noticed that my wheel is coming really out of true, do you guys think this might be the case?

Help me out, I don't want my bb or chain to snap on me while riding.

A wheel that is not true shouldn't make "horrible noises" in the drivetrain. How old is your chainwheel/chain/cog? I recently replaced all three (after far too long) from a really worn down setup.

The cog, probably 6-9 months, it's a Soma brand 16T cog.
Chain wheel? You mean chain ring? A little more than a month, it's a cheap Pake one that came with the crank, chain also about a month(last one snapped and it was a horrible disaster...)

Try easing up on your tension.

Also, it only happens when I pedal with my left foot.

Non-drive side crank bolt...? Torque it down.

I don't have a torque wrench.
How tight should I do it?
As hard as I can go? (I'm a pretty big guy)

Tight enough to stop the noise, but not tight enough to crack the crank arm.

Might want to check the seat area...seat post and saddle rails before cranking down on the crank. All noises seem to stem from the bb area.

Is this a square taper BB?

Maybe it's your left leg. Check your kneecap and your ankle.

Chainwheel and chainring are both terms that mean the same thing.

i doubt it's the left side crank arm. I would recommend loosing you chain tension to see if it persists. then start looking for other culprits. Saddles and seat posts are often overlooked as a source such noises.

Don't worry about the chain snapping, if it hasn't done so already it's unlikely that it will, get a brake if you don't already have one.

What type of noise is it? Creaking? Try tightening the crank bolts in addition to the chainring bolts.

I had a creaking sound whenever I accelerated when my chainring bolts were loose.

Hmm, for some reason it went away tonight.
I got some new pedals, but I'm not sure if that's what fixed it.

If it went away after changing your pedals, my guess is........
