I know it looks dumb. I did it with 35/28 and quickly swapped the tires out, but I'm still using wider tires that I had before. It looks fine with 25/23 and does make some difference in comfort

Rule of thumb, unless you're on the track if your running over 120psi or you keep getting pinch flats you need a bigger tire. I'm 195-210lb and can get away with riding 23c tires on my road bike, but 28s ride much much better and never pinch flat. Go with bigger tires, your bike and body will thank you for it.

I'm 265 and I run anything from 23 to 28. I'm actually running a 23 on the front and a 28 on the back. Very comfy setup if you ask me.... But if I were riding competitively I'd run 23's I've never had a problem with them only one pinch flat for being under-inflated.
