I would love to try an indoor velodrome. Unfortunately the nearest one is 1,500 miles away

I can just imagine how smooth of a ride it would be.

Isn't Burnaby, BC, Canada closer to you than that?

Woah, you're right! I was only looking in the US and saw LA was the closest indoor to me.

Burnaby is only a 3 hour drive!

That's awesome, I just need to get a passport and i'm good to go!

Thanks man! I've been around the area (Vancouver) in the past but never thought to look up Velodromes.

Good job. I was expecting more of a sprint from the group on the track.

What song is this? Also that video quality is AMAZING! I was just ripping some old SP footage off a minidv I shot in school a couple years ago and it's like a 8mm compared to this

He's refering to Blaine, MN where he rides. It is indeed an outdoor wood surface track, same as the Superdrome in Frisco, TX where I race.

That's crazy, how does the wood hold up to the elements? I would imagine the wood would be cracked, splintered, and warped.

Well, IDK about Blaine, but at the Superdrome they used special marine wood that is used on the hulls of boats and has a marine paint coating. Nevertheless, the boards do wear with time, and several have to be replaced each season. The paint is quite abrasive to provide better traction, almost like a very fine grip sandpaper, but with the downside of rapid tire wear and bad track rash when you crash.

Burnaby is super super super fun, kind of steep at 47 degree and feels good when you come down from the highest point.
