watched this earlier. loved the classic "get more upset when I get caught doing something" approach

I don't have a problem with a guy buying a bike he knew someone stole. Who knows, this might be the only time he knowingly bought one. We don't have the whole story, and you can't really judge someone based on one incident.

The "DERP" spray paint on the wall at 3:00 is all too appropriate.

i'd like to say that i totally don't approve of someone buying knowingly stolen merchandise (though the clip doesn't have anything to give us an idea of how much he actually KNEW).

that said, i ****ing hate shows like this. hansen wants us to believe that he is revealing some sort of wrong and somehow working to rectify it, but the fact of the matter is that sort of confrontation doesn't solve ****. whether the guy bought the stolen bike or not, he is clearly a dude in the ghetto who does underhanded **** like everyone else to scrape a living. hansen isn't trying to right any wrongs, he is trying to stir up drama which means ratings which means he makes more money. **** him for pretentiously taking advantage of people who take advantage of other people.

I'm pretty sure we had all of his side we needed we he tried lying about it then started getting violent.

The whole clip is a bit more telling, really. Hansen's guys spent a great deal of effort trying to get the employee to buy the bike and after a while he finally relented and bought it. Its kind of hard for me to feel sorry for the BBG employee, though, since he obviously didn't stick to his guns and bought stolen merchandise - which to me, means they will do it but that they didn't trust the Hansen crew initially (common trait among thieves)

i think that it's evident that since pedophiles see these shows and STILL DO IT and get caught, even by the same show, that the above is true. this doesn't do anything but show people that bad stuff really happens. no **** it happens. that's why we have police.

why shouldn't they be?

no one is going to debate that what happened was ****ed up, wrong, bad for society. unless you think selling stolen goods should be legal, in which case you're an asshat.

however, i seriously doubt it will keep people who put food on their table by doing that **** from doing it more.

i tend to agree with the sleaseball garage door installer who 'fixed' a working garage door motor that had been unplugged and then charged the guy a lot of money (in another one of these web exclusives)... "**** you, you should be trying to catch pedophiles rather than doing this bull****."

Hehe, bike thieves are more intimidating than child molesters, Hansen better bring a bodyguard next time he does something like that.

Only thing that bothered me about that video was that Chris Hansen decided to employ his grandfather as his "security".
